Another Garth fan film that's not Peters. Man, I wish "Whom Gods Destroy" was never made, or at the very least wiped off the face of the Earth
Indeed. It's amazing the one note characters that grabbed hold of the fan imagination and somehow continue on for no explicable reason. I think if even SNW did an episode around the story I would turn it off without question. It's just poison now.

Darren is in no way connected with the Axanar scam.

Did anyone for one second suggest he was connected to Alec Peters or Axanar?

He's produced nearly a dozen Trek Fan Films without holding his hand out for donations. I'm happy to see him get back into it.

I’m not familiar with his work but I did see a comment on the Facebook post suggesting as much. I never suggested for a second he was sticking his hand out. I also wished him the best of luck. Something I sincerely meant.

Why? So we can all watch him lose? It would be a waste of everybody's time.

My post, up until my last line about wishing him luck, was meant primarily as a joke.

The episode is not the problem. If it didn't exist and somehow the production team Alec Peters financed had made a smash hit of "Prelude to Turnabout," Peters would still bilk desperate trek fans by promising the further gripping adventures of Janice Lester. Alec Peters, as always, is the problem.

My only gripe with the Darren Hann production is that it's another Garth production that's too timid to go toe-to-toe with that paper tiger. I say, if you want to take down Axanar, film your own Axanar.

I was kinda hoping for a Short Trek or something to give us a canon version of Garth and Axanar, just for the petty kicks. But another fan film does Axanar before Axanar? That'll do.

I’d almost suggest Peters would try a lawsuit here but I think even he would have a hard time coming up with cause. “This guy stole my idea for a fan film for something I already got sued for stealing?”

Even Peters isn’t that moronic…

Unless…? :shifty:

Seriously, I wish the production the best of luck. I imagine we’ll see this before we see Axanar.
He can't sue. Peter's has no legal standing WRT ANYTHING Star Trek. (And if he tried, that would be a clear violation of the CBS/Axanar settlement agreement as part of said agreement is Peter's CAN'T claim copyright on anything Star Trek.

'Why Garth Of Izar?' is a question I've seen asked a few times and wondered myself even more. Would it be because choosing a character from a pretty forgettable episode is more likely to be ignored by TPTB than, say, Khan or Decker?

My god, people, it was a joke!

Decker. Stone. Even Mendez. Garth is just a patient. I watched that episode once and only remember the Andorian.
