Pretty easily because green skinned women cause significant eye rolling. How can you possibly forget Yvonne Craig???![]()
Not just Ihnat! Shatner as Garth in the control room when challenged by Scotty with the chess code is EPIC ham, even by his third season standards!not to mention Ihnat hamming it up.
Indeed! How can you possibly forget Yvonne Craig???![]()

Also helps tp explain the REST of the scene where Spock lets Garth kick the crap out of Kirk instead of just stunning them both and see who turns back into Garth. (IE - Nimoy suggested a long fight with a lot of close ups so not too much cancel for a stunt double...To get in the right frame of mind for that scene he just imagined that Nimoy had been given more lines than him.

It truly is a magical time of year.Ummm,
Did no one else get an email about this yesterday? First email message from Axanar in ages! Not really sure how I ended up on the mailing list:
I bet your Bird of Prey's extended warranty is about to expire.
They have Guild members?Posted on the Axanar Fan Group (Facebook) in response to a question about when the shooting starts:
Next shoot is in a few weeks. Slowly starting up again. Lots of SAG Covid restrictions to comply with still.
Looks like a ready made excuse. The same thread also says no one else is renting their space.
SAG/AFTRA used to (still does for all I know) have a "new media" classification that allowed actors work for streaming audio and video projects at far below scale or even for free. After filling out the paper work for a project that involved multiple professional actors, I can honestly say I wouldn't want to do it again. It's not easy to do properly and very easy to screw up.They got certain waivers as part of the settlement for their single two part film.
The point was that the Guidelines forbid things some things but in the settlement Axanar was allowed some leeway around some of those.SAG/AFTRA used to (still does for all I know) have a "new media" classification that allowed actors work for streaming audio and video projects at far below scale or even for free. Any chance they intentionally make the process hard just to discourage people from trying to do it?After filling out the paper work for a project that involved multiple professional actors, I can honestly say I wouldn't want to do it again. It's not easy to do properly and very easy to screw up.
Could be. I think it's more like hazing: my guess is that system allows them to weed out those who are sincere and willing to do the dirty work to put a production together from wannabes who are all talk and no action. Of course, as I mentioned, that was some years ago and things might be easier (or harder) now.Any chance they intentionally make the process hard just to discourage people from trying to do it?
