"Over the age of 20" and "coloring books.." Interesting.
Also, even if the unintended audience is going to look for the technical details the showrunners are not automatically going to give them out in the first episode. It's ridiculous. Almost as ridiculous as the constant "I know this is a kid's show but..." type posts that go on around here. Yes, it is a kid's show, which means we as the wonderful adult Trek audience members are not going to have the same experience as what is intended by the showrunners.
I should think that there's a place for the older kids to get what they want out of the show, too.
Good eye... definitely showing some perspective distortion there. Probably the closest thing we’ll see to orthos until Eaglemoss does their treatment of the ship. Not so orthographic.
Dammit!

Lot of Kelvin influences in the show. I wouldn't be surprised if....
I mean, has anything been shown to prove otherwise?
Yes, I can see that too. That is the polar opposite of JJ. Abrams, were one gets the impression that he watched the first 3 episodes of TOS and deduced "Oh Spock and Uhura are in a relationship."
2385, according to people involved in the production.I assume this occurs in the PU. Was there a Canon year given?
2383, 5 years after Voyagers return.I assume this occurs in the PU. Was there a Canon year given?

until Okona shows up on Prodigy I’ll remain convinced that Campbell mixed up his Star Treks and was actually talking about his cameo on LDS.related to Thadiun Okona (Billy Campbell announced his future appearance on Prodigy and spoiled his plotline a little).
