Even if it is a misreading of the TOS episode that still implies Medusans can't communicate except through other means like a physical body or environmental suit that can translate their thought patterns into audible language. I can see some developing psychic powers to overcome that.

If Medusans wanted to win a battle or a fight, all they needed to do is expose themselves to the adversaries. No one could even aim at them with a weapon without becoming mad. It's hard to hit a target if you don't look at it.

We don't know how long the CareTaker or Suspiria were kidnapping Alpha/Beta Quadrant folks, so there can be any number of Alpha/Beta Quadrant native species missing and located in the Delta Quadrant.

All thanks to those two Nacene.

Caretaker? Borg? Old colony ships that were established pre-Federation? How many "old Earth colonies" did the Enterprise stumble upon through different series, including in TNG were they "hadn't made contact in 60 years" sometimes.
Also this. Also VOY had a Klingon ship show up in the Delta Quadrant. Why is this so far outside of the realm of possibility that they only explanation that makes sense is the idea that they must be close to the Beta Quadrant?

Sounds like the strategy used by my Uncle Joe.

Yeah, that D7 battle cruiser from the TOS Movie Era wasn't going to get to the Delta Quadrant just using the warp drive it came with. Those Klingons ended up there because of more than just setting out to explore a Klingon legend or myth.

I don't know. It seems that's the only reason why they ended up there after more than a century of wandering.

I would've killed to have an animated show like this when I was a kid in the 80s.

I throughly enjoyed the hell out of the first episode. I dig the premise and characters. Loving the Protostar design.

It was fun. And honestly that's all I want out of my Trek these days.

I mean, I guess 100 years of poking around at different warp velocities could get them there but the journey seemed a bit assisted by something that was never referenced. Kind of how we're just supposed to accept based on the second TOS pilot that the S.S. Valiant reached the Galactic Barrier using just Warp 1-range engine technology from the Zefram Cochrane Era and around the year 2065 but you know that some magnetic storm or wormhole helped that ship get to the edge of the galaxy so quickly.

And going in the other direction, Voyager encountered an entire colony of Talaxians near the end of season 7 that were many, many light years beyond where they should logically be, likewise without explanation.

What's more disturbing is that they have a rather large region of space where any person with a high level of ESP is turned into a god in a matter of hours. I guess that's how the Q continuum was created...

Except that going through the same Barrier two more times in TOS did nothing to anyone else in the Enterprise crew. Oh, Trek. Your inconsistencies never fail to amuse.

Indeed, "I lost a brother once..." everybody thought he was talking about the brother he lost in Operation - Annihilate! and then he says "I am lucky I got him back." and everybody says: "What!!!"...

I just take that to mean BOTH Sam Kirk and Spock. I'd like to think that's who McCoy thought Kirk was referencing.

I liked everything about it. I can't wait for the next episode.

Interesting that the ship had been being searched for 'for years'...and its name was known as well.

In the comic adaptation for Star Trek 5, Peter David changed the line to "I've lost two brothers, but I was lucky that I got one of them back".

I just wondered why Starfleet never used Medusans against the Borg, but if the Medusans can build containment suits to remove the harmful effect of their presence, the Borg can probably likewise build their own shields that can do the same.
Kirk's cold. And yet everyone bashes Spock for not even mentioning Burnham or Sybok.
