There's no need to yell, this isn't a particularly emotive topic
Yeah. This is not new nor particularly egregious in Trek. Money and time are tight in productions with little flexibility.I mean, this sort of thing goes on in all TV shows, not just Star Trek. I remember one show, where a speaking character asks an extra the time, the extra just holds out their arm so the speaking character can look at the watch himself.
Morn never complained.
Guild rules are very strict.I think that the rules might even apply to cameos. That's why Lee Child didn't do anything other than gesture in "Jack Reacher"
There's a funny bit in TNG, when Data and Crosis are talking and Data says he'd kill Geordi just to feel again the brig jailer is just sitting there within earshot not reacting at all.
and the director didn’t realise the silliness if it all.I guess the writer forgot that there was one around.
Can't imagine why...and the director didn’t realise the silliness if it all.
And when they would set down food/drink in ten forward. Sometimes they would not even look at the main crew guest characters / stars. Or the main crew does not even say thank you. That would seem especially important in this future. It was always most obvious to me on TNG when they'd have an extra at conn who wasn't verbally acknowledging orders the way the regular characters always did.
In the future, new Star Trek episodes will be either 45 minutes of table manners or "naked time!"
Why 45 minutes? I can get it out of the way in 20 seconds!
