As we didn't get to see it on the show due to the whole "saving the Archimedes" thing (maybe next season?), I had to come up with it myself:

Rutherford (:adore:), Kimolu and Matt.
Lower Decks has now surpassed DS9 as my favourite Star Trek - We've finally got Cetacean Ops!!! :D

OMG! That's amazing! You really copy the style quite well!

Yes, potentially. Kirk was in command of a unique type of ship, only 12 like it in the fleet. Merrick notes that such a command was special.
Doesn't mean he would be remembered for that a century later. I could see him being remembered for stuff in the movies though, like his role in the peace treaty with the Klingons.
However, Jadzia was closely associated with Sisko, the man who more or less won the Dominion War, so I could see her being remembered as well.

Spock of course, would be a very well known diplomat by the time of LD, most likely better known to the general public than Jadzia would be.

The books

Gonna stop you right there, everything after those words is irrelevant to the shows.

In civilian circles, sure. To Starfleet Kirk is a hero. Has been for a bit.

Yes and no. Fair enough though.

Interesting technical revelation that the entire hull can be jettisoned like that. Has some interesting implications for my tabletop game.

I also expect there to be a Jettison Hull console for the invertible Cerritos-Class ship in the Lower Decks Lockbox for Star Trek Online. (laughing!)

I also expect there to be a Jettison Hull console for the inevitable Cerritos-Class ship in the Lower Decks Lockbox for Star Trek Online. (laughing!)

Typo correct.

The Cryptic devs did say they were waiting for this season before they worked on the California class, as Mike said the ship does something cool last year that we hadn't seen yet. I'm assuming Mike meant this.

Place your bets on what you hope to see:

Predictions:

* T'Lynn's transfer

Nope. Not yet.

* The blowing up of the Obena or otherwise screwing the pooch

Screwing the pooch, definitely.

* Freeman taking over the duties of First Contact

Somewhat. Glossed over.

* Boimler's clone showing up (long odds)

Nope.

* The Vaaruuvian Bomb

Yep. Mentioned.

* The Lower Deckers are promoted to Junior Lieutenants
* ...But they don't have room on the ship for them all.

One of them appears to have been. We don't have positive confirmation though.

Hoping they bring in J.G. Hertzler again.

No, Tim, you're an idiot.

Cetacean Ops ;)

BINGO! Hole in one!

Ransom as captain.

Probably acting captain now, but not during the episode.

Boimler clone turns evil.

Ritos shirts.

No, and not this week.

Cetacean Ops with Barnes in a swimsuit.
Rutherford breaks up with her.

Cetacean Ops, but Barnes is nowhere to be found (in relation to Rutherford).

A teacup & saucer on the bridge of the Obena class starship.

Don't think so.

Somebody spills something on Captain Gomez.

And it becomes a good luck omen for Capt. Gomez.

Someone trips, and she vaguely alludes to the spilling incident. But not a mirror of it. Again, you're an idiot, Tim.

A more coherent prediction:

Captain Freeman is going to escort a vessel on First Contact and proceeds to make a bigger deal about it than necessary, offending everyone else. Especially as she confuses "escorting a first contact" with, "making a first contact." Everything goes to hell and she learns a valuable lesson about her chasing glory and meaningless prestige.

Not coherent enough, it seems.

given the spoiler in the video clip, I predict the Cerritos will be destroyed and all staff transferred to the new vessel.

Cerritos cervives.

One thing I really love is character and storyline evolution. The ending of Season 1 was great, but one criticism that kind of irked me was that the Cerritos (our hero ship) was utterly doomed and bound to be destroyed until another ship (the Titan!) came from nowhere to save the day.

This season, ends with the Cerritos as the ultimate hero ship, going through Hell, almost literally, to do everything it can to save probably billions of people and a doomed starship. "It's the Titan!" from Boimler got replaced with an "It's the Cerritos!" from an Archimedes crewmember.

All fantastic gag about "Warping around the debris" and getting aggressively shut down.
yes, love when everyone in universe is quite adamant that something can’t be done but we don’t know why. Perfect way to avoid lengthy and convoluted explanations to what some might see as plot holes.

well, they jettisoned a hull plate in Enterprise, it stands to reason all can be jettisoned. Still a fantastic idea.

I don’t think the people on the planet were in any danger.

Some lines from the transcript:

But... we're still moving?

Momentum, plus the Lapeerian gravity well.

But that means...

Unless we figure something out, first contact is going to be us crashing into that planet.

They're caught in the gravity well.

20 hours until impact.

Planetary damage... it'll be catastrophic.

I think the main conflict of the episode was that the Archimedes was damaged and going to massively damage Lapeeria, and saving the Archimedes was as much about saving their sister ship as it was about saving this new world from utter annihilation.

The removal of the hull plating was a GREAT idea.

We already knew from enterprise it could be done, but we never saw it done on a such extensive scale, also t he y established that the hull plating itsel has some kind of passive shielding which can’t be turned off (perhaps descended from the hull polarisation they used in enterprise?) which explains why Starfleet ships are so tough even when shields have failed.
Permanently Polarized Hull Plating that also has "Ablative Hull Armor" properties?

Missed that, thanks.

perhaps!
