I do think it's kind of amazing that Mike McMahan loves TNG so much that he wanted to bring back a character who appeared twice in a role as an homage to the show from 30 years ago. That is the fan dedication I can only aspire to.
A more coherent prediction:
Captain Freeman is going to escort a vessel on First Contact and proceeds to make a bigger deal about it than necessary, offending everyone else. Especially as she confuses "escorting a first contact" with, "making a first contact." Everything goes to hell and she learns a valuable lesson about her chasing glory and meaningless prestige.
A more coherent prediction:

I think that's one of my favourite episodes of Star Trek in the entire franchise.
In no particular order:

* Sonya Gomez had a much bigger role than I expected. What I was hoping for with Tom Paris.
* Mariner and Jennifer is not a ship I expected to ship. But ship it I do.

* Of course she knows Jadzia Dax more than Spock.

Beckett comparing herself to Kirk irked me alot. She is nothing like Kirk. After 2 seasons, she still is the most irksome character I have ever seen on any tv show. How she is still in starfleet amazes me.
