M'Ress and Sulu became an item in the old DC comics Trek series! Squicky as it is, this sort of thing is accepted in the Trekverse.

M’Ress became Myra (complete with horns) when the series relaunched after licensing negotiations .

In the Kelvin Universe, the hairless human trend extended to Cait, with interesting results.

 

They were half-Caitian, like Connolly's roommate. In fact, the timing's pretty good that one of them may have been Connolly's roommate (in another universe).

 

Having been lucky enough to see the Short Jewish Writers Show (Harlan Ellison and Peter David) at a con many years ago, I am completely unsurprised.
