Shatner is looking at it with the eyes of a kid born in the 1930's seeing the world from orbit for a few minutes.
The others, who are much younger, seem as if it's just a $250,000 carnival ride into the air and back.
Both perspectives are correct. The latter will become the norm as time goes on. Much like people flying for the first time. Now we use headphones and sleep through it with the shades down.

Raises some questions why this is not news on either source, when they have reported on blink-and-you-missed-it stories about former ST cast members doing whatever--nothing in the realm of Shatner's landmark journey. One can argue its the most attention anyone with an association to Star Trek received this century, because that cannot be said of those CBS shows.
Definitely beats 30 seconds at a time in a vomit-comet. (And thinking of how much vomit-comet time Ron Howard, Tom Hanks, & co. logged when filming Apollo 13 [spoiler: Lovell, Haise, and Swigert make it back alive, just like they did in real life], I wonder how long it will be before Hollywood starts chartering flights into space.)
At the same time, we do need to maintain some perspective: Shepard and Grissom's Mercury-Redstone flights each lasted about 5 minutes longer, and went about 80km higher. And did so 60 years ago, on much less mature technology.
They might not have the rights to it and not be willing to spend the money on it at this point in time. Or, it simply isn't important enough to be mentioned, given that people are making the association all on their own any way.
It isn't that important to them right now.
That probably has something to do with it.
Either way, it's going to drive traffic to Star Trek regardless so they might see little incentive to spend money on what amounts to free advertising.
Besides, Shatner's not on Trek anymore. As a Legacy actor it's not like he can do much damage to Amazon Prime Video's business by driving viewers to a hot new Shatner series set in space.

No avenue for class for that guy, Shatner should've refused to work with that dead weight after TVH. My goodness this dude won't give his contempt for Shatner a rest, even when the guys has "knock on wood" reached 90 years old. What a loser.

So Shatner and Takei have/had a feud. They need to just let it go. Time is short and so is life.
