Captain Kirk heading to space.. for real!

He could probably kick mine too, even though I consider myself in decent shape. But man... I really can't make myself care what his latest publicity stunt is. Glad he made it back though.

I guess Bezos got a little worried when Shatner started talking on live tv about how his company delivers people to death and back XD

Looking forward to late night interviews! Too bad Conan is over...

The Kármán Line was established in the 1960s by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (also known as the FAI) in honor of physicist Theodore von Kármán........where did you hear they changed it for tourism?

It's 100km (not 80 that some like Branson claim), but to be recognised as a US astronaut you have to do something on the mission - not just be a passenger.

Only $50k to take a balloon up.

100,000 feet is not "edge of space". It's 31km, the level youtubers send garlic bread to. New Shephard reaches over 100km (beating the Karman line, and thus the FAI altitude requirement for "being in space")

Discount price, discount space:biggrin:

He went up 66 miles. If I'm not mistaken the manned jump from the capsule(Baumgartner, 2012) was at about 24 miles.

That's a big reason I think Shatner was off script and just overwhelmed by the experience there. No way Bezos wants Blue Origin associated with death

I'm 46 and the man could kick my ass. :p

Ghouleddie74 gets introduced to The Kirk Drop Kick....

I haven't read every word of this thread; has anybody marveled at the fact that William Shatner, at age 90, climbed seven full flights of stairs to the capsule? At space normal speed, and without batting an eye? He's aiming for 100.
