Brand spanking new member here, so my apologies if things are a bit wonky!

Anywho, to christen this thread, here's the WIP's and line art from my most recent piece! An artist (oddthesungod) I really admire on Twitter created this demon AU for McCoy and I couldn't resist taking a crack at making my own version with Spock. I definitely took a lot of inspiration from my DND characters, as I'll take any excuse to draw tiefling-esque people.

I'm debating on coloring it since my digital color skills are subpar at best. I'm still getting the hang of digital art after being a traditional artist for so many years.

If I had a dollar for every time I’ve asked this question myself, hours into drawing/coloring one of my pieces…

Thank you!! Haha, I totally get that. I'm like five, almost six hours into my piece and I think over two hours of that was dedicated to just lining the hair. Why do we as artists torture ourselves sometimes by doing these things?

So I did decide to keep working on this piece after all! Still playing around with the colors and saturation, but this is what I got so far.

The colors might be displaying differently than what they actually are! Been having this problem recently when I transfer my drawings from my iPad to my computer.

If anyone has any suggestions for colors or a palette, or anything else for that matter, please let me know! I'm open to just about anything!

Two WIP's for you all tonight! Neither of these pieces are finished by a long shot, it's taking me forever to make some decent progress in my art nowadays. But slow and steady wins the race, or so I've been told.

More lining and some color progress on the ChUruha piece! I hope that my computer didn't wash the colors out again!

And a T'Lyn for your troubles! I can't wait to draw some fluffy hair on her!

I would love to draw Mariner, Tendi, and Jennifer at some point, but who to draw next after these pieces are done?

Suggestions are more than welcome!

Thanks so much! I use ibisPaint X on my iPad, my tablet is so old it won't run much else. It gets the job done, but I'm ready for an upgrade.

Thank you very much! And I'm glad you like them, vaporwave/lofi music is the best, and Corp. is one of the masters of those genres. I should post more songs and albums that I listen to in that thread!

Sorry to double post again! But I wanted my last two replies to be separate because I finished the T'Lyn piece!

Initially, her hair was going to be a lot different than what it looks now, but I ended up going with something a bit more simple. I was going to do my "linework only" style of shading, but that takes hours upon hours to complete, and I did not feel like toiling away that long on so much hair. I am very pleased with the finished piece, though! I'm trying to develop a simpler drawing style that doesn't require so much attention to detail so I'm not spending days at a time on a single drawing.

However, I did snag a photo of the WIP of her lined hair before I changed my mind!

I'm not sure who I'll draw next from Lower Decks, but I hope to have them out soon!
