I chalk it up to the way Netflix does its marketing and the way it "recommends" things to people. Netflix has so much content. Upon release, they'll release a trailer on their Youtube channel, and they'll highlight it as a current release, and that's it. After that, they'll leave it to its own success or failure, until the announcement of a new season, if it gets one. Shows survive by being noticed on their service. If they're forgotten, they're likely not to be found, leading to cancellation. Sadly, it feels like Netflix is like a conveyor belt of releases. Every week there's something new, and it's easy to miss something if you only get a brief glimpse of something before it's shuffled off out of view in favour of something new yet again.
