What can be worse is when you are browsing in a store and are asked do you work here? Which might be ok if you were wearing anything reasembling the uniform.

To be fair to shop workers often they are trained to ask, it's supposed to help deter shoplifting.

I hate it when people ask me that. Uh, DUH, I've got the uniform on, what do you think I did that for, fashion?

I was talking more about when you don't work there aren't wearing a uniform or anything that reseambles that places uniform.

But another one is being asked "are you open?".

"No we just leave the door unlocked and on automatic when we are closed"

I've been experiencing the opposite in stores lately. I go in to find a particular item, and I'm not sure where they have it, but there's nobody in sight to ask. I notice an employee some distance away, but they are gone by the time I walk over to where they were.

I was wearing a red t-shirt one day and had to stop by a Target store for something. A lady asked me if I worked there. I told her I didn't but I knew where the product was that she was looking for so I showed her to it.

My store opens at 7 A.M., but we always get a few stragglers who try to get in early. And they act OFFENDED when we say we're closed!

Hey pal, sign says 7 AM, go ahead and DEAL with it.

I'm frustrated by my knee giving me so much pain at the supermarket I had to sit while my hubby shopped.

Unfortunately, that has got me more than once. And I don't even ask if they work there, because they are wearing a store uniform, so obviously they do, so I typically just start in with "Excuse me, do you know if you carry ____", or whatever. And then it turns out they don't work there, and their clothing just looked like the uniform.

How utterly embarrassing. If you'll excuse me, I'll just go crawl under this produce display now. :alienblush:

Glad to hear you made it out OK after tempting fate like that! ;)

Plumbers who, while working on the second floor shower, cut a water line, before checking to see if the line was empty or not, sending about 18 ounces of water through your kitchen ceiling--directly into your overhead kitchen light, which happened to be turned on at the time.

And then, to have the gall to say, "Oh, it's OK."

No, it is definitely NOT OK. In no possible definition of the word is it "OK."

Well bill them for the damage if it caused a serious short or electrical damage.

They are still working on the shower. Our neighbor is an electrician and he looked it over for us for free. He set a fan to dry out the spot. We're hoping that will take care of it.

So far, the plumbing company has done more damage than repairs. We're into week two and the shower still isn't done.

They earlier replaced the mixer valve in our guest bathroom and now it has a constant drip. He refused to fix iit, saying it would cost $700 dollars. I lost my shit at that point, so he said he would give the $150 back but still not fix it. So I now have ANOTHER plumber coming on Friday to fix it.

We just want to make a few repairs and sell this place but it's turning into an ordeal.

    Happy renter since mid 70's.

Things landlord has paid for over the last four and a half decades:
New kitchen remodel including new appliances, bathroom redo. A leak inside a wall. Front walkway re-pour. State of the art energy efficient, noise reducing windows in every opening. New roof. Ongoing termite, bug and rodent extermination. Interior and exterior paint jobs.

I am only responsible for things I break, like the handle of the bathroom faucet. Set me back about $110 P&L.

I get that my rent pays for those things but I don't have to deal with the headaches of getting them done.

Don't know, but I do know that it's the site that hosts high-profile wikis such as Memory Alpha and Wookieepedia.

Yeah, when I worked at Wal-Mart they would always tell us if we see a customer we should go up and ask if they need help. I didn't do it much, because I don't feel comfortable just approach random people like that, and I actually had my bosses tell I had to go ask if people needed help more often.

Angry Old Woman Rant for the day.

People who seem to think that, if anything is asked of them, no matter how small the task, it's a freaking injustice; this tiny, insignificant action is just too much for them to handle.

    You know what?
    Grow the fuck up.
    Shut the fuck up.
    Get shit done.

    That is all.
