The british media are prone to sensationalist headlines, which bear little resemblance to the actual truth. This crisis started with something like 6 stations struggling to get deliveries but headlines tell us we are facing a fuel shortage, which of course we then do as people read the headlines and not the story.
Its happened throughout brexit, the damaging headlines on vaccine side effects were appalling, and lets not forget the damage they caused in the banking crisis in the late 00's.
Of course they arent solely responsible i accept that, there is a cause for it but i feel responsible reporting rather than sensational clickbating would cause less damage.
You could argue of course its down to those who blindly follow the headlines and panic, and of course it is too. And of course the impact of brexit but getting into a political discussion is something i will steer well clear of.
