Of course he's blaming yet another-departed director... and having to do more "reshoots". Things have to go unfinished so he can continue to grift.

Yeah. A bit off-topic, but I love how at press briefings, all the reporters are sitting there dutifully masked up, except they pull their masks off to ask questions. Isn't that the time when it's needed the most??
This. Once Axanar is done, so is his revenue stream from weird alt-right Trekkies.
Maybe the Axamonitor guy shouldn’t have done what he did but at what point do you say ‘actually I’m done with just sitting about posting memes etc’ . Peters took and continues to take lots of free money thanks to Star Trek, he never paid Cathy Hutzel the money she’s owed (who just happens to be a widow, ffs) and he’s brought and continues to bring frivolous lawsuits using said free money against whoever he feels has wronged him. And there appears to be no stopping it, no system to put right the wrongs. Meh, I certainly don’t think this has made matters worse, they’re bloody awful to begin with.
Okay, so I get the Cathy Hutzel thing and there definitely is some sympathy there. But there is boatloads of evidence out there about Alec. I have a hard time feeling sympathetic for those who donated to him after the CBS suit. And just forget about the true believers. They’re hopeless.

I wish that evidence demonstrating Alec Peters’ mismanagement and other problems was more accessible, actually. You have to dig a bit for it. Not to mention the fact that he continues to this day to use Prelude as his calling card to woo people to his side. It works. It’s how he got Paul Jenkins hooked, for example, along with his poison-pilling any online dissent by labeling the haters.
That’s why this altercation, as silly and ill-advised as it was, at least for the first time pins some kind of criminal action to Peters. Most of what Peters does — especially with regard to those he litigates against — wouldn’t survive in court with an actual judge and impartial jury. That’s why he abuses the system to inundate his opponents with legal filings, forcing them to spend thousands simply on responding. He celebrates how he has driven people to bankruptcy through his vexatious litigation. He openly uses this as a threat to keep people from seeking any real justice from him. And it works. I can’t tell you how many people over the years have spoken to me off the record and refuse to say anything publicly about Peters because they are terrified by him. That’s no exaggeration.
Peters rarely if ever tries to win in court. He makes it too expensive for his opponents to ever meet him there. And it works.
Indeed. The biggest thing that I have come away from online Trek discussion is that what makes Trek Trek for some is the visuals. There were a lot of fan films I watched and read comments on and the biggest take away was "This is what Star Trek should look like!" It matters less about the characters, and more about how the verisimilitude of Star Trek is presented. Sweater style uniforms, bright colors, flashing buttons, orange nacelles. The look is what sells it as Trek.Generalize much? What about inclusion??? Would love to see the data on this statement!!
Couple this with what Alec and the production team have done very well is present themselves as the underdog. "Mean CBS won't let us work on our film." So people feel sympathy because the idea of a corporation not allowing a fan to do a film sounds so mean spirited. Never mind the details of that work.
Finally, there is just a feeling that current Trek productions are just so unsatisfying. They are aimed at the masses when Trek is supposed to be special, niche, and only for the fans who get it. Star Trek needs to be respected, and the way to demonstrate that respect is to maintain production styles and values regardless of the era.
I think it is less about politics and more about a dissatisfaction with current Trek.
