I would wager that this is the story that takes place during "Fury's Big Week".
Looks like it's going to be "What if Tony Stark had died from palladium poisoning in 'Iron Man 2'?" Leaving Nick, Natasha and Coulson to pick up the pieces against Ivan Vanko and Justin Hammer, and then try to assemble the Avengers without Tony - just in time for Loki and the Chitauri to come calling...

I like the series so far. Interesting concepts and quite entertaining. I wasn't quite sure about the animation style, but I found that I enjoy the visuals a lot. And I hadn't really read up on this before, so I didn't even realize that Chadwick Boseman had recorded dialog for the show.

I got to say I do love the visuals and look of the show. It's very impressive. Maybe even better look I g than the Clone Wars style and way better looking than the Lower Decks. At least with people. The Lower Decks looks great except the human and humanoids. The ships and tech stuff look great.
I’m sure if they wanted a photorealistic look on LD, they would have done it. It’s a deliberate choice to go with a a “cartoon” look.
Does any one know if "ScarJo" provided the voice? If so it's certainly likely to be her final MCU appearance.

I quite enjoyed this one. I loved seeing Fury and Coulson working side by side again as they tried to figure out who was assassinating all of the Avenger Initiative candidates. A simple story, really, but a fun one nonetheless with a reveal that I didn't expect but I suppose I should've. Ultimately the episode isn't "What If...the world lost its mightiest heroes?" but rather "What If...Fury recruited Hope Van Dyne...and she died on her first mission?" However, they couldn't go with that title because spoilers!
I particularly enjoyed the unexpected alliance between Fury and Loki. I know we didn't get it for the sake of the graveyard reveal, but I would've liked to have seen Fury convince Loki to hold of his death and destruction plans in order to team up to apprehend the crazed Hank Pym (complete with a hybrid Ant-Man/Yellowjacket suit!). Really, I just wanted more Fury and Loki banter because that was a lot of fun to watch. It was especially fun to hear Hiddleston go full power hungry Loki again.
I don't know if it was ever actually intended for three of the Phase 1 movies to occur during the same week, but I liked how they played out seamlessly here with different results thanks to Hank's murder spree. In fact, I kept expecting Cap to show up to save the day until Fury decided to make a deal with the devil. What we got instead was better because I loved the cool ending with Fury recovering Cap's body at the same time he finally asked for Carol's help. Although that said, I'm not sure why Fury didn't decide to call her in when he first thought of it. I guess because he figured she wouldn't show up in time and he hoped (or was desperate enough to think) he could trust Loki to leave after capturing Hank.
Lastly, I loved how Coulson said Loki's army made him think of Middle-earth. Not too far off considering Tolkien borrowed elements from Norse mythology.

Turns out it was Lake Bell instead. We got a mixture of the original actors (Fury, Coulson, Barton, Loki, Pym, Banner, Sif, Rumlow,) and new voices (Romanoff, Danvers, Gen. Ross, Betty Ross, Stark), with both groups covering lead, supporting, and cameos.

It was pretty much established by the Stark/Fury scene at the end of Iron Man 2 showing footage of the Culver University fight as a recent event, and implied by that meeting clearly taking place before the Stark cameo at the end of The Incredible Hulk. And of course IM2 also set up the events of Thor, so those were meant to overlap. So yes, it was intended, though it was retroactive in the case of TIH.
It was for the greatest emergencies only, which was why (retroactively) he didn't call Carol in to deal with the Chitauri invasion. Fury thought he'd exhausted all other options, but then he realized what "Hope" meant and thought of another way.
Stark was played by Mick Wingert, who plays him in most of Marvel's animated TV shows these days, including Avengers Assemble and Marvel's Spider-Man. Wingert's a pretty good impressionist; he also does a virtually perfect Jack Black impression as Po in Kung Fu Panda's TV spinoffs.
Maybe it's just the vagaries of character design, but I wonder if they didn't have ScarJo's likeness rights, since Widow actually kind of looked more like Lake Bell to me. And it's interesting that Banner's character design here seemed to split the difference between Norton and Ruffalo. Weird how, even though they brought back the "real" voice of Banner/Hulk, it was still a recasting in the context of this specific story.
Not as funny as last week, but still another good one. They really are coming up with some fun alternative takes on past MCU events.

This is the first episode where the moment of timeline divergence wasn’t shown onscreen, and indeed couldn’t be revealed up front since it was the solution to the mystery. It’s not even clear whether Hope joining SHIELD was the actual nexus event (as the TVA would say) or a consequence of some earlier change, though it’s the only prior change we’re told of.
I found it weird that they went to the trouble to design and print up logos for draping over the coffins of potential Avengers who'd died, when in the original universe they didn't bother to design logos for the actual living Avengers.
A bit dull, but I like the idea of Hank Pym being the villain because of the death of his daughter and not just because he felt like it. MCU Hank is pretty mellow given his history in the comics, which is probably for the best.
