Just wondering if anyone here is a fan or likes the show.

I've started a rewatch of this right from the very start. It's really interesting this show more then others I remember nearly all the episodes I have seen so far and some more then others especially the episode "Riding the lightning" where we had perhaps our only ever innocent unsub. She took the death penalty rather then be reunited with her son because he had found a better life than she could have given him via being adopted.

My only gripe / nitpick with the show, and I felt this way even when it was brand new was that the BAU was supposed to deal with all kinds of crime but the show seemed to only focus on serial killers or killers in general instead of "all kinds of crime" which was mentioned in the early episodes when Hotch was explaining the BAU to Elle who was a newbie on the team.

Anyway enjoying season 1.

I'm in love with Penelope Garcia. :adore:

Then again, who isn't.

She was fun but started to aggrivate me as the season went on. Season 1.

I don't think they knew what to do with her but toned her down for later seasons. I didn't really like her that much in the early season 1 and 2 period.

I loved the show at it's peak. The first 100 episodes are mostly great. It really is almost unwatchable by the end for the most part, just like most other procedurals of it's kind. It just became background noise while I played on my phone.

Well they manged to pull 15 seasons so they must have been doing something to keep getting renewed, and renewed.

I am very much of the opinion that shows like this should only go for 7 or 8 seasons or outstay their welcome.

Didn't the actor who played Hotch actually get into a fistfight with one of the writers, which got him fired from the show? (and replaced by Paget Brewster who, though excellent, basically just plays a female Hotch)

Also, at which point did the show start filming in Vancouver? Was it when actors like Michael Hogan (Colonel Tigh from nuBSG) started popping up?

Not sure about the Vancouver thing..

Another thing is in 15 seasons we should have gotten a glimpse of another BAU team. I find it hard to believe that our main cast was the only active team doing this stuff.

It has been a while since I read about that, but some versions of the story implied it was overblown, and that Thomas Gibson (the guy playing Hotch) had kicked a chair or something like that during an argument, and some of the producers was kinda out to get to him and used that incident as an final straw. I might be wrong tho.

I agree that the show went on too long and it wasn't worth watching without him or Shemar.

Well there were the two mediocre spinoffs. Those teams were out there.

I definitely liked Rossi better than GIdeon. Of course my opinion is biased on that point because Mandy Patinkin has kind of a record of treating his castmates like dogshit. I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did.

One of which I probably remember because of Matt Ryan popping up on other stuff I watch. Neither Suspect Behaviour or Beyond Borders lasted long though I did watch them all the way through.

Oh....... I looked at those didn't care for them. Didn't know Mandy Patinkin treated the rest of the cast like shit. I remember him on a medical show Chicago Hope, and the one perfect movie "The Princess Bride"

I've never heard that he treated people like shit. He just quit showing up for work. Joe Mantegna was better anyway.

I like to think in the show Dharma and Greg it's really Hotch who ditched his family and life and shacked up wit Dharma.

It's at about 4:47.

For his part, Patinkin has owned up to his past and apologized for it. So I hereby retract what I said.
