Spoilers Eastereggs, references, observations, nods – the LD collection

Ok well then to be perfectly detailed, it's a TAS-style line drawing with LDS-style lighting and 3D effects plus special eyes that are not quite either.

The fact that they designed Gary in this detailed way, evocative of TAS, but not a carbon copy (like the Kirk and Spock picture from S1) makes me think we're going to see either Gary himself or just some TOS era shenanigans, presented in this half-way style. I have a strong feeling that McMahan is going to have a bit more than just character arcs this season, and there are some things from this episode (Strange Energy, the Ancient Ones, Gary Mitchell, all of the above) that will tie in to the season finale.

Just watched the second episode. There's a giant Starfleet uniformed skeleton which I think is a nod to The Infinite Vulcan (TAS). Someone help me out?

I loved the part also about everyone wanting to collect Data.

Otherwise through Boimler's Riker commentary we had a whole raft of TNG references, some Chateux Picard, more Pakleds and Tamarian stuff which was fun.

Riker had a model of an Oberth in his ready room, I assume it was meant to represent the Pegasus.(edited)

His trombone is on display as well. There's a bunch of records behind his desk, a Horghan on another table, along with a bottle of liquid that I recognize, but don't remember what it is. Beside his Oberth model is a Union soldier hat from the American Civil War, which is a callback to Voyager where we saw one of his ancestors served in the Union army.

I should point out the Selay found the idea of replicators disgusting and liked live meat.

Which is as it should be.

No one here was talking about replicated food.

Did you reply to the wrong thread?

I just rewatched Crisis Point.

It's a reference to the Selay accepting replicators in lieu of eating people. Hence I needed to point out Captain Freeman's solution wouldn't work.

I know its unlikely to ever happen, but I keep watching to see if they ever sneak in any fanfilm/STC references. The internet would blow a gasket. (It does have precedent, with the ghostbusters denver fanfilms becoming indirect canon via an easter egg in the Ghostbusters Video Game.)

A lot of stuff in S2E2.

A baseball and bat, the Ktarian game, a Medusan box, a salt vampire, a trombone, Khan's necklace (?), a Valiant-type buoy, a TOS-ENT Terran Empire symbol, the Curiosity or Perseverance Rover, a lirpa, ushaan-tor, bat'leth, mek'leth, and Jem'Hadar blade weapon, a Kadis-Kot board, a Kurlan naiskos, the INS bazooka, Chateau Picard boxes, a poker visor like Data's, Odo's bucket, a Horta egg, a TOS engineering tool, a red TOS uniform, Maska's mask, the ghost candle, Data's painting of Spot, the remains of Spock Two, an Excalbian, and the Lincoln they created, and a USS Pegasus model on the Titan. The Pakled use Klingon disruptors, and the transporter console showed the reflected second beam similar to the diagram in Second Chances.

The hologram waiving its finger going ah-ah-aaah is probably a reference to JP! :D

Things in episode 3:

They suddenly have VOY computer sounds for this VOY-heavy episode
"Celerity-induced accelerated somatic mutation rate" references that real, published fake paper! XD
VOY is actually used as the abbreviation for Voyager
Shaxs revival theories: transporter pattern buffer copy, restored katra, mirror universe switcheroo, Borg rebuilt him, future son (?) from alternate timeline, genesis deviced, time-ribboned, nexus
Boims is running into doors like in many real outtakes
Qualor II from Unification has Quark's and Vic Fontaine
Song gik'tal by gre'thor paradise
Caitians have hormonal cycles like pon farr
There's a type 15 shuttlepod on Qualor II
Mariner broke Worf's mekleth on DS9
Dom-jot table on SB Earhart still with Nausicaan players
Rutherford's vision has Terran, Borg, Tiny Dyson sphere, and Neelix-costume Shaxs
Mariner likes bad Bynars XD
Boims hums a small part of the VOY theme, but oddly non-VOY music plays whenever Paris appears
Returning from the dead seems almost as horrible as the admonition
Shuttle bounces off the shield like in TNG The Hunted
