Spoilers Eastereggs, references, observations, nods – the LD collection

Might as well get Season 2 rolling

Episode 1:
Cardassian torture chamber, clearly inspired by TNG Chain of Command. Complete with 4 lights

Mariner's workout outfit might be from TNG?

Miranda Class and bridge ripped right out of Wrath of Khan. Miranda has a couple changes, like glowing bussards.

All the ships I spotted in the escape sequence:
Klingon D5s
Bajoran Fighters
Dominion Fighters
Runabouts
Delta Flyers
Paragrine Fighters
Cardassian Hidekis (maybe? The design is a bit different)
A Romulan ship inspired by a design from the old SFC and Starfleet Academy Games

They talk about Gary Mitchell in the episode.

Based on the preview for episode 2, there's going to be a ton more references in terms of props and stuff.

There are Galors as well
MacDuff's phasers and glowing nacelles match the Majestic in DS9
The shield diagram from WoK shows that they're failing
Mariner calls the Cardassian prison escape Cardio XD
Starfleet wants no interpersonal conflict
Intro Borg battle now has BoPs and the new Pakled ships
Gary Mitchell is shown in LDS style
The famous glowing and blinking tubes are in the room where Tendi zaps Rutherford (not sure if they were there before)
Ransom is defeated with a boulder, like Gary
Ransom on the mount (reference to Shatner on the mount) XD
You can swim in cetacean ops
Stevens reads Nightingale Woman from WNMHGB

Edit: The "salty dog" boat name could be a very obscure reference to Aquanox XD

It didn't look like either to me. It did look very dramatic for a Starfleet file, though. :D
Same, or perhaps a recent comic. Not LD style.

Compare his Torso to Kirk's. Pretty sure it's intended to be the same style, just with better shading/lighting.

But yeah, I have a feeling any time they show old images/footage from the TOS era they'll try to mimic the TAS style.

If they ever time travel/holodeck to that era, maybe not, might be a bit much to completely change the art style for one episode, but you never know.

I'm still holding out hope for a "More Tribbles and Tribble-ations" type episode into The Animated Series, with appropriate animation changes into the era. Maybe Gary here represents the half-way point point between Lower Decks and TAS that will make such an episode feasible.

Based on the latest trailer, it does appear that they will travel to the motion picture era (probably just a holodeck simulation, but who knows), but no apparent animation changes there.
