Daft things you thought as a kid...

As a child, my husband used to think that babies came out of a woman's cleavage. It made sense to him: he knew they came from a woman because he'd seen his mother pregnant, and it looked like a cleft or split in her chest, so... And he'd get in arguments with other kids about it!

For some reason I thought you weren't allowed to name your child with a name that someone you knew had.
Are you Jewish, by any chance? Ashkenazi Jews generally don't name their children after living persons. Moreover, they won’t name after a deceased individual if a close living relative has the same name.

No, I'm not Jewish.
That naming situation you explained was new information.

I believed that the world used to be monochromatic because old films and television programmes were in black and white.

Assuming he ever saw the movie "Species", one wonders if he felt a hint of vindication?

As a kid, I thought on reaching adulthood I'd understand the world and my place in it.

Nope.

Along those lines: I thought all of the issues I saw "very special episodes" of TV shows about would get resolved, because there were clearly sensible adults aware of the problem and using their platforms to call others to action. Now I'm an adult and have no more idea how to fix this mess than I now realize the people who wrote Who's the Boss? or Golden Girls did.

I don't remember the context of this argument, but in grade school another student was convinced that 0 was higher than 9. Should've asked him if he'd be willing to sell me $19 for $10.

Woody broke bad.

I used to think there was a difference between a copier and a duplicator…that the latter did reproduction of 3D objects…like a 3D printer today…only this was in the 70’s
