Poll Should Lower Decks acknowledge modern Trek?

I mean technically, there's nothing stopping BSG being the very distant past in the same timeline...They should star referencing Star Wars, The Expanse, Babylon 5 and Battlestar Galactica.
Depends on which version you're talking about:
The original BSG is, at the very earliest, set in the 20th century, because they pick up the Apollo 11 signals in the final episode. However as they point out, that signal could have been bouncing around the ether for centuries or even millennia. So BSG-TOS' time frame is basically a complete unknown, except for the fact that we know it CAN'T be the past.
As for nuBSG: We do know when it was set - 150,000 years ago. So *IT* is obviously the past. TOS can't be.

Look at all the multi-generational Starfleet families though.

Amongst the main characters:
* TOS/TAS: Kirk, Scott/Preston, Sulu
* TNG: Picard (ancestor was in UESPA), Riker (father a civilian consultant), La Forge, Crusher, Troi
* Voyager: Janeway, Paris, Tuvok's family
* Discovery: Burnham (Section 31 parents)
* LD: Freeman/Mariner
Additionally, it was suggested by later writers that Valerie Archer was descended from Jonathan Archer, suggesting another Starfleet dynasty there (and non-canon is full of Starfleet families for pretty much all characters in some form). The Ransom possibility is similar to the Archer possibility, and may come up someday, although I can't really see an easy way to fit the reference in, even with Lower Decks' standard of sledgehammering in references sometimes.
There was also Garovick (sp?), the security officer who was the son of Kirks old captain, and according to Star Trek Continues there's also Garret (as in Captain of the Enterprise C).

I believe there SHOULD be at least one reference to DISCO on Lower Decks:

I mean I think DISCO is rife for making the kind of jokes that make Lower Decks fine. Not because I dislike Disco but because I love it.

I'm pretty sure that one of the security officers that took Mariner away in the Lower Decks season premier was Xahean, and if so, that would make them the first New Era alien to appear in every iteration (including Short Treks, where they were introduced) of modern Trek.

He was Antaran. He's been on the show since the first episode. A regular background character, and one of two Antarans (the other being the Alhambra version of Ransom) seen on the show.
Antarans were featured in just one episode of Enterprise, previously.

I think light ribbing of the Kurtzman era would go over fine to be honest.

Why not? If they keep the same tone LD has used for the original and spinoffs, and that's one of the cool things about this show is the balance of tones it quickly showed it had from day one. It might get more people interested in the other shows, if they're tuning into this one for the first time - or people on the fence with the new shows. Or maybe those who tried the first time, disliked it, but have warmed up to it more since.
