Post Your Dreams Thread

Hope it wasn't one of those fixed points in time.

I dreamed that John Cleese (of all people! Why not someone younger and handsome? Come on dream world) sidled up really close to me and whispering in my ear, asked if I'd like a little rumpy pumpy. I said something like oh my goodness, yes! Unfortunately my sister was on the sofa that shared a wall with the bedroom so I was a little concerned about the possible noise, but not enough to stop me from undressing. Then my bladder told me to wake up and take care of it before it exploded.
Tonight I want a better dream! I mean, I would love Cleese as a dinner partner, but ....

Haven't posted in this thread in ages, but I experienced a dream I was clearly able to recall well after waking, so I transcribed the events. Not often am I able to do that. Let's begin.

*** *** ***

Watched a midway carnival in the distance from the outside stairway of a mid 20th century residence seemingly three stories or taller.

A sudden gust of hurricane force winds weakened and ripped away the wooden railing.

Went inside to see about damage and the interior seemed more an tenement apartment.

My "flop" was on the 6th floor, but the stairs leading to the 7th were weakened.

Some older residents of that upper floor wanted to return, but I convinced them to stay on my floor as the stairwell was still secure leading to that level.

Returned to the ground floor and found myself outside studying the rear of the building.

Noted to some other leasers (friends?) there was a second stairwell we should check to see if usable.

Once inside, spotted a door under the stairs I thought was just a small storage "nook".

While checking down the hall that led to the front of the building, one of the 'friends' called for my return.

The door led to a near labyrinth of pipeworks rooms stacked high with all sorts of genre goodies, comics, action figures, sci-fi ship miniatures, etc..

Somebody believed this was the "back room" for a comic store where the more "adult" stuff was kept so underage kids could not see them.

(Yes, it makes no sense the "back room" display of a comic shop was located in the pipework tunnels of a building that started as a tall house that first "blended' into a tenement apartment building and then displayed features hinting at a commercial structure. "Dream logic", meaning, well, none.)

As I explored looking at the stuff I'd like to grab (and then had the sense I'd need to pay though no merchant was present), I saw a, an absurdly thin door. I concluded this was the other side of a door I saw within a supply closet, one which I had earlier reasoned could house a couple of brooms at the most.

I heard a thudding at the narrow door as though somebody from the other side were trying to force it open. It finally burst open and defying physics concerning volume, a barrage of fanboys dressed like and proportioned like "Comic Book Guy" from "The Simpsons" literally poured into the tunnels like a wave!

I knew my chances of acquiring anything I wanted was doomed because I suddenly concerned myself with prices, reasoning I would have visited several times to casually browse for "hidden treasures" and have the funds to purchase them. Now, I realized the place would be picked clean within an hour.

I spotted a woefully inaccurate Jupiter II toy that had a crudely sequencing "fusion core" using filament "grain of wheat" bulbs. While barely resembling the ship in the series, it was still a popular toy at the time. (In reality, there's no such toy, but that's what my "inner voice" within the dream told me.)

I just kinda' sunk to my knees knowing I could not buy it at the time and knew it would be snatched by somebody among the throng of basement dwelling fanboys tearing through the rooms like a plague of locusts.

At that moment I finally woke.

Back in the 90s when things like Thunderbirds toys had a brief resurgence there was a lot of Jupiter 2 models for sale. I snagged a fairly decent set with lights and sounds, and it had the landing legs pop out of the saucer, But like the show it was woefully out of scale. The only time you ever saw the model in proper scale on the show was when they did the space pod leaving the ship, then it looked its proper size.

Had a dream about owning a pet tiger or lion or something like that. Took it out for walks on a leash. It liked to try to eat the other pets outside and I'd have to scold it and it'd let the animal go, surprisingly bloodless with no bites.

I had a dream that I had a salt dispenser with gourmet salt in it, but it was getting low, so I figured I would transfer the salt to a smaller container. This was difficult as the salt was moist and was sticking to the sides of the smaller container and wasn't settling to the bottom. Anyway, it turned out that there was too much salt to fit into the smaller container. So I decided to eat the excess, which amounted to several spoonfuls ("spoons full?"). But a mouthful of pure salt was unbearably unpleasant, so I spat it all out, and it took several tries to rid my mouth of all that salt. I woke up to find that I had drooled a lot in my sleep. :wtf:

Sorry to double post, but it's been a few days with nobody else posting their dreams...

I dreamed that I was in a rural area by some green tree-covered foothills, and I came across a tiny community of a few houses that was keeping a kind of unsanctioned zoo with wild animals in a clearing behind their buildings. The animals were not even fenced in, but tended to kind of stay in their own areas. I was taking pictures of a few giraffes, when I realized that there were a couple of leopards nearby, growling at me. I started to panic, but I didn't want to just run off since I was worried they would chase me and eat me up. I looked around to try to find some secure area where I would be physically separated from the leopards, but I couldn't see anything. The houses seemed to be unoccupied, with no way to get inside. Then I woke up.

Where does it happen?

I haven't been remembering my dreams lately. But I've been sleeping better.

It's hearing sounds or such which doesn't appear to be in the same room you are in.

Started off a few months ago lying in bed I could swear I was hearing jazz music like in a club, and looked around, thought I had left the TV or something on and then after a while it went away. I felt like I was actually there though and then a few weeks later it was different sounds like a park with people walking about, conversations. It's really freaky the things you hear sometimes. Gave me neat ideas for stories to write though.

From Merriam Webster:

There are a lot of other sources and definitions, conventional medicine rules it a hallucination but parapsychologists of course do not.

That's very interesting. Does it happen only at home or other places too?

Mostly at home when its very quiet like night time or about to sleep. But I did get a weird one once a last week I thought I heard the TV on and protesting, so maybe thought it was news coverage, when I walked into the lounge room the TV was turned off. So that was an odd and very specific occurrence of this thing.

It's given me great story fodder for short story ideas.

For awhile, my son and I both had experiences when putting the key in the front door lock. I could have sworn my son called from inside the house, "I'm coming, I'm coming", so I waited but he didn't show up and I had to unlock the door myself. He had the same experience, only with my voice calling to him. That went on for a short while and then no more.

That's one example of that.

I had this neat idea for a story where someone learned to use that as an ability and could listen into things only they didn't know the other side they were listening into somehow could sense them listening even though they were not in the room.

Last night I had a dream that I was San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo and that they made me third string for a playoff game against Seattle. Instead they started... Nick Mullens. And it went as poorly as you'd expect.

I was on another planet in a flea market and just wandering through stalls, and despite it being an alien world you could tell it was a market and they had fruit and stuff for sale that would not have looked to out of place on Earth, even books though in weird writing that I could not even understand. I had to have my android translate the book covers. Oh and the Borg are real only they are not hostile but are nomads wandering from galaxy to galaxy looking for relics to buy and sell.
