A nice little VFX reel of scenes from 'That hope is you pt 2'. Anyone else love the shot of Discovery and the Viridian being chased by the Federation fleet?
Some Season 3 stuff, CBS has started the DVD/Blu-Ray marketing https://comicbook.com/startrek/news/star-trek-discovery-season-3-blu-ray-dvd-release-deleted-scene-/
So it's assumed that Tilly will be Michael's Number One? Or will they bring in someone new? Maybe someone from the 32nd century who would have more insight on things? EDIT: Actually, I guess Saru is in the background in uniform in the season 4 teaser, so most likely it will be him. And just to add this too...
I'm quite happy today. TrekCore ran a giveaway for the third season's Blu-ray release and I'm one of the winners. I virtually never win this stuff!
I think Saru might be working with Vance and may just be getting ferried around by Michael on some sort of diplomatic mission.
Turns out that Stamets is real and is already working on mushrooms for space travel. https://www.scientificamerican.com/...-most-surprising-future-ingredient-mushrooms/
Yeah, the spore drive was inspired by his theory that all mushrooms are connected underground by mycelial roots or something like that. The writers just sci-fied it up. The roots became subspace strings connecting space mushrooms that the ship could travel through.
That was Bryan Fuller's original concept. In the original concept by Bryan Fuller, Discovery had no magic spore drive. The mycelium fungus was about terraforming, not space travel. (The Tardigrade was supposed to be an intelligent alien crew member. "Stamets' Chewbacca") Here is Paul Stamets on The Joe Rogan Experience in 2017:
https://trekmovie.com/2021/07/26/do...-and-stamets-in-star-trek-discovery-season-4/ Doug Jones states in this interview that Saru will still be holding the rank of Captain in season 4. My guess is that he will be getting his own ship. Also, looks like everyone who picked up on romantic chemistry between Saru and President T'Rina may have been on the money.
