USS Praetorian? Protostar! I was hoping it's Voyager's aeroshuttle, but an experimental ship might have experimental holograms... XD
Those nacelles look quite Kelvin Timeline-esque to me. Otherwise, I like it better than the Cerritos.
Except according to DSC season 3... Spoiler They couldn't find any other propulsion system for 600 years that was any better than standard warp drive.
Spoiler Slipstream is mentioned in Season 3, the crystals to use it are just very rare. Book's ship has a slipstream drive.
Wwel Well, if this ship was sent on an unmanned test run and vanished, ending up on the other side of the galaxy, or perhaps even in another galaxy, I'm pretty certain Starfleet command would conclude that Quantum Slipstream drive wasn't destined for widespread use.
Official trailer link: youtu.be/PRxhSEN4LLQ?t=1691 There's a bit at the end where we see some kind of LCARS that could be in between NEM and PIC...
Here's a better link https://ca.startrek.com/videos/watch-first-look-at-star-trek-prodigy Edit: Ok it's still region locked, but it works in Canada
The ship's registry of NX-76884 tells us two things: 1. It's an experimental prototype of some sort, most probably a Quantum Slipstream ship, and; 2. It was built maybe a few years after Voyager returned to the Alpha Quadrant, so in addition to Quantum Slipstream, it might be equipped with the advanced ablative armour from Endgame, which would actually fit within the context of a cartoon.
Liking that they came back to Starfleet Bold Extended/Millenium. Hoping that the character set's been getting expanded.
