Spoilers Prodigy ship revealed

This ship looks beautiful.
I love the size - small enough to have a cockpit-like bridge but large enough to still be a fully-fledged starship.

Looks like it's about 60 meters long.
That flap below the saucer, is that another piece of tech or a piece of the Protostar?

The arrowhead-shaped saucer, love it.
Can't wait for Eaglemoss to bring that model out. Hurry up!

I tried building a mockup in Star Trek Online, using the Emissary-class star cruiser (800 meters long): https://mixeddimensions.com/gameprint/product/uL333Aic26469icp5/?uid=Doblinian

Definitely reminds me of the Emissary Star Cruiser from STO, with different pylons.

It's like the love child of the Intrepid and Sovereign class, with some Prometheus and JJ-verse Connie thrown in.

I got to be honest, that ship is rather generic and meh.

Unfortunately the days of people like Andrew Probert and Rick Sternbach, who lovingly and painstakingly designed starships, is gone. However, I give things like LDS and Prodigy a pass, as they're cartoons aimed at a certain demographic who probably could care less about such things.

I like this ship a lot too. And I like that it's an experimental ship, it's fits the overall premise well, I think. And I guess the name Protostar kind of fits. It's a prototype starship.

The bridge is the thing that got me. Being surrounded by a huge window like that looks great.

It'll be interesting to see what Playmates Toys does with this... and with all of the characters. With them being animated it should be easy to get them perfect.

EDIT:
I see that the Prodigy shop is up...

Pretty cool ship from what we can see of it. I like that it's a small starship, a one-size-up from a runabout in a way.
Wish the primary hull was circular though, I prefer that shape to chevrons.
I love the cockpit bridge with 360 window, reminds me of that Excelsior concept.

Be interested to see the size. It looks like it has a cockpit, but the "windows" on the rest of the ship would be way too small for that. I'm guessing the bridge is actually still big, just made mostly of trans-alum.

Nice ship. I'm actually surprised by the trailer. I was expecting something more kiddie but it looks a bit more serious. Looks good.

Well, after Lower Decks I'm still dreading this, but I have to say that visually it's in another league entirely.

I'll crack my mind open...just a smidge.

I wonder if the real-world reasons for calling it the USS Protostar is a combination of:
A) starts with PRO like the series
B) draft name was PROTOtype STARship

However, I give things like LDS and Prodigy a pass, as they're cartoons aimed at a certain demographic

No they aren’t. Very different demographics.

Even so, based on the various minutae about Star Wars ships my kids know, I’m not convinced kids today are any less interested than I was when TNG came out.
