Declare Yourself!

Hockey's my main sport and the Leafs are my team. Since before I can remember, like many people around the area. The past few years (much like the preceding 37 or so) have not been a good time to be a Leafs fan, sadly.

I also follow baseball with some regularity and the Jays are my team there. Seems like my loyalties are determined by geography. Still, the '93 home run by Joe Carter in Game 6 was my first epic sports memory when I was nine years old. If magical shit like that when you're nine won't make you a life-long fan nothing will.

You poor guy. -shakes head- There is hope for you yet. As long as you dont go to the REALLY darkside, by which I mean Montreal.

I really love all sports, but of course, hockey is where it's at for me. I'm a die hard Oilers fan. I'm too young to remember the dynasty of the 80's, but have vague memories of the 1990 Stanley Cup win, and everything else is thanks to classic video. I've stuck with my team through the darkest days in its history (the early to mid 90's), and was finally rewarded with the miracle Cup run in 2006. Unfortunately, it looks like we're kind of stuck in reverse right now, but I have hope for next year; mind you, that's what I said last year. :alien: My 2nd favorite sport is American Football; CFL or NFL doesn't matter.

If I had to list my favorite teams
NHL - Edmonton Oilers (distant 2nd would be Washington, man did they improve today!)

CFL - Edmonton Eskimos
NFL - New England Patriots
NBA - Toronto Raptors
MLB - Toronto Blue Jays

As for soccer, I'm a Liverpool fan.

Born and raised as a Kansas City Chiefs/Royals fan and a Mizzou Tigers fan. And when we moved to Texas I became a San Antonio Spurs fan. That covers the big three national sports (football, baseball, basketball) and all college sports. I haven't watched alot of hockey or soccer. My favorite sport to watch is football (especially college football, and especially when the Tigers are kicking ass!), my favorite sports to play are bowling and medieval archery, and my favorite sport to play in a video game is hockey (but I like any other sport on a video game as long as it's got an EXCELLENT player creation feature.)

My primary sports are cricket (which I also officiate in at local level), American Football & baseball. I follow the fortunes of Yorkshire & England pretty avidly and have been a huge N.Y Giants fan ever since the NFL first started being televised in the UK in 1983/4. I didn't pick up on baseball until more recent times, but have been a pretty serious Yankees fan since 1999. I'll also watch rugby (both codes), college football and most winter sports (e.g skiing, ski jumping & biathlon).

Good day, my name is Garak and I'm an avid sports fan.

I like the passion, I like the intensity, I like the competitiveness and I like that I drink when sports are on.

My main sport without a doubt would be hockey, the kind played on ice. After that it's a toss up between Football (the American kind) and football (the European kind). Baseball is only fun to play, same with basketball.

My favorite athletes are:
Joe Sakic
Steve Yzerman
Patrick Roy
Steven Gerrard
Mario Lemieux
Joe Montana
Jerry Rice
Ray Bourque
Roberto Luongo
Michael Essien
Trevor Linden
Barry Sanders
Zinedine Zidane

Probably missing a few, their loss.

My teams are:

NHL: Vancouver Canucks
NFL: San Francisco 49ers
EPL: chelsea Chelsea CHELSEA

There's others that I somewhat support, but those are my top 3.

I eagerly anticipate engaging you all in this lovely new forum that I will someday take over from 4th Hanson Bro after I pummel him with a crushing body check behind the net. Keep your head up buddy!

Oh and my least favorite teams? The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Calgary Flames. May they buuuuuurn in hell.

There is only one team that matters to me and that is the Parramatta Eels, in the NRL. Been supporting them since the early 1980's, when we one hat trick of premierships in the old NSWRL competition. Haven't been to a game in a while, due to some personal reasons. Hate Canterbury Bulldogs with a passion.

Also a huge cricket fan, and supporter of NSW and Australia. Played more cricket than rugby league due to my back.

I must point out that Spiff promised me this forum if it ever got approved.

So watch your flank.

Hockey-Leafs
Basketball-Raptors
Baseball-Jays
NFL-Jets

With the possible exception of the Raptors, I have really crappy taste in teams.

You very well know my reasons for getting into them!

Besides...wasnt the last time the leafs won the cup the exact same year the kings came into the league? :D

Yeah, but I'm sleeping with him.

Bam!

My favorite sport is professional tennis. Now that Andre Agassi has retired, I root primarily for Marat Safin, Andy Murray, Marcos Baghdatis and Rafael Nadal. On the women's side, I like, among others, Ana Ivanovic, Anna Chakvetadze, Marion Bartoli and whosoever is playing Serena Williams.

I enjoy pro football, but greatly prefer the college game.

I'll watch college hoops, yet have almost no affection for the pro version.

I understand and appreciate baseball, but generally lack the patience to render the game its due.

Come World Cup, I live and die for the Azzurri.

Favorite teams:

College football: Rutgers Scarlet Knights
Pro football: Arizona Cardinals, New York Jets
Pro baseball: New York Mets
College baseball and basketball: St. John's Red Storm (though they'll always be the Redmen to me)
Pro hockey: New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers
Soccer: Forza Azzurri

My favourite sport is Rugby Union. My favourite teams are ACT Brumbies, the Wallabies and Fiji. Unfortunately I don't like in the same state (actually it's a territory) as the Brumbies so I only get a chance to see them one every two years when they play the Reds up here in Bris. But the trade off is there are one or two test matches in Brisbane a year so I get to see the Wallabies.

I also enjoy Rugby League (fav team, Canberra Raiders), Cricket (only interested in the national side) and I don't mind watching a bit of Tennis and Netball because of the pretty ladies.

I'm mostly into baseball and American football, with baseball being my favorite (and also the one I played growing up). Both sides of my family have strong New England ties, so I'm a fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I also have a sort of second-tier like for the Chicago Cubs in baseball and the New York Giants in football (I get that from older relatives; before the Patriots came along, a lot of people up here followed the Giants).

I like other sports, but it's more of a casual interest. I'll watch a hockey game or a basketball game once in a while. Lately I've started getting into football/soccer, I've watched some European games on the Fox Soccer Channel, but I haven't really developed a major interest yet. Oddly enough, I always get pumped up for the World Cup, though. :p

Fuck that, bitch. This forum is mine. And I'll trip you with my stick to get it (checking isn't my thing, I prefer cheap shots when the refs aren't looking).
