A "HUGE DUD"? I think that was a great selection of books in June. Even though I have all of them in hardcopy, I bought several of them as ebooks with this sale, including Captain Proton. Just because you're not in the market for the sale on that batch of books, Koric, it doesn't mean that there's no interest in that sale.

@Allyn Gibson I only meant that some others made comments about the Captain Proton novel that seemed negative. I purchased all the books already, and only meant it had been a repeat of past sales, which is good if you missed the chance to buy them the first time around.
    Cheers,

Nice! I think this is the first time we've got the fifth RotF novel as part of the monthly sale... and we get most recent Voyager novel too!

@KRAD Just wanted to give you a heads up, and wish much success to you. These TREK sales are pretty awesome. I hope you still make residuals even when the ebooks are on sale like this. Here is to hoping for good things honestly.

I need all the friends I can get on here hopefully @Christopher or @David Mack don’t put me on a HIT list or something like that, :) i’m not on here to piss anyone off, or make enemies. You Trek writers seem very friendly and accommodating, and I would like the chance to meet you all in person someday.

@trampledamage man welcome to the club. Being disabled, I love to read, but about 12 years back I decided to go digital as I wanted to have easier options to read. Not to damage my books with cracking spines, etc. My coordination got worse, and hardcovers got to be too heavy, so I embraced ebooks early on. I think the tech behind tablets and e-readers have stalled out as far innovation, I hope I’m wrong.
But, with my hands ereading is easier. Star Trek and Pocket books have always been fair about making almost all their books available digitally, but with coffee table books and specialty art books, sometimes digital format readers get thrown under the bus,

    Sorry for the long post.

Koric: As a general rule, and with the caveat that every contract is different from every other contract, we get paid a royalty based on the listed cover price, not the raw amount of money it's actually sold for. We aren't dinged for discounts, so we aren't hurt by sales like this or by, say, B&N putting us on the 30% off shelf.

The real dilemma is to risk purchasing Triangle, even at $0.99?

I ended up buying eight of the nine books this month, only skipping "Faces of Fire". The "Spock and young David Marcus" immediately lost my interest.

Same! And for me in August, while I own a number of these in Kindle (almost all in fact) as their pub dates sync up with when I made the switch I realize that it's still a great selection of offerings at unbeatable prices.

Not to mention, an earlier time the Seekers books went on sale, I bought all four as ebooks, despite having the paperbacks, as a way of "voting my with dollars" to show S&S there's demand for more. :)

Again, I do the same. One, to support as you do. And two, paperbacks deteriorate and I love how Vanguard, Seekers, and Destiny look displayed on my shelf and I know those spines would inevitably be cracked and broken.
