What games are you playing currently?

Is Cuphead really that hard?

Well, I've been playing side scrollers for 35+ years. I've beaten the original Castlevania. I've cleared the Turbo Tunnel on Battletoads. I've played my fair share of Contra with and without the Konami code.

Cuphead. I can BARELY get started on the first level  Three hits, and game over. I'm gonna keep at it though. The art style is entertaining enough to keep me wanting to play it.

I also beat Resident Evil Village, which I plan to play through a few more times, just not right now.

The Far Cry 6 teaser has me stoked, so I picked up Far Cry New Dawn and started it. It's weird going back to 30 FPS after getting used to 60. Before the PS5, I would have said that frames per second surely couldn't make THAT big of a difference. Boy, was I wrong! :)

^ Yeah it's insane how quickly I got used to 60fps (and even 120fps in some games) and how hard it is going back to 30fps.

Anyway, I finished Mass Effect 2 LE yesterday. Now I'm deciding whether or not to start ME3 LE right away.

Any other Sonic the Hedgehog fans around here? Since it sounds like Cuphead is not for me, I've been thinking about going with either Sonic Mania or Sonic Forces instead. Anybody played them?
I'm leaning more towards Mania, since I've been in the mood for a retro 2D side scroller like that. And from the description on Wikipedia it sounds like some stuff from Mania has an effect on Forces.

Finished up Greedfall, which I thought was pretty great. Now it's onto Just Cause 4, and I'm finding the game rather confusing partly because the game doesn't explain what you need to do very well, and the fact that there are many functions tied to the same buttons and don't always work so well in the heat of the moment.

Making some pretty good progress in Gems of War. Once I complete Grosh-Nak I can move onto the next kingdom tier and craft stuff in the soulforge. :)

Planning on starting Control.
I absolutely LOVED Control. It was a game that was on my radar and only bought it because I'd finished Assassin's Creed Odyssey and it was quarantine and I had nothing else I wanted to play. Holy crap did I have a good time with this game :)

Control is free on Epic Game Store this week...
It is a good and beautiful game...

Yeah I also really enjoyed Control... I might replay the PS5 eventually.

Anyway, I got the R&C: Rift Apart platinum earlier today. Now I'm doing a Challenge Mode (New Game +) playthrough on the highest difficulty. ;)

For a few weeks i've been playing Kards - a WW2 themed collectible card game, that is quite fun.

As usual you can build better decks if you pay for expansion boxes or you slog it out and earn them through gameplay, which tends to slow down the higher you are in the progress bar.

I'm still playing Mass Effect 3 LE and Forza Horizon 4. I also started playing Ori and the Will of the Wisps earlier today which looks (and plays) amazing in 4K at 120fps with HDR.

I've been playing Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart all day and I'm having a ton of fun with it.
I'm jealous. I'm dying to play that one.
I'm almost done with Shadow of Mordor, all I have left is the take over the mind of the last Warchief and then I can confront the big bad.
