Since the season finale, Discovery fans and Isaac's Star Trek co-stars have been campaigning for a series "Find Prime Lorca", giving an Isaacs a reason to return to the Star Trek universe. During an interview with ComicBook.com, Isaacs explained what it would take to get him to return to Star Trek.

“I don't want to be in things just because other people want to see them. I want to be able to play something. So in all the things you mentioned, I felt like I had something great to play. a clamor for me to come back to Star Trek. I had a fantastic time on Star Trek, I loved everyone, I love being part of this universe, and Prime Lorca, a Prime Universe version of my captain, has yet to be found. But I wouldn't come back just to be in it, would come back if you have a great story to tell."

Do you think Lorca can still return to Discovery or in another series? Or is there no more space for a character like Lorca, It doesn´t make sense now?

Lorca coming back would be fantastic in some way. Could possibly work better on Section 31 or Strange New Worlds, but since he was displaced from this universe then he could potentially end up anywhere.

Find the right story to tell and get him back!

Now I'm wondering if Isaacs refused a Lorca cameo in S3

Jason Isaacs is a prolific actor. If you look at his credits from 2019-2020 it's nuts how busy this guy was. Chances are it was more an availability issue.

I thought this topic was going to be about how much money Isaacs was asking for.

With Discovery in the far future now, I think the time is past for Prime Lorca to come along. He'll just be there on S31 (if it ever happens) or SNW. It's only on Disco where you'd have the meaningful reaction from the other characters.

And finding him in a cryo tube, or stuck in a transporter or whatever after 930 years is stretching credibility, somewhat.

I wonder if the part where they interrogate one of Lorca's top men in Disco S3 was originally meant for him.

If you're adept at reading between the lines, that could still be a factor ;)

Realistically, like others said, he could have been busy before and you never know.

Agreed that S31 or SNW would be the most likely places to turn up. Tho a throwaway line on DIS mentioning finding prime-Lorca way back when could work too.

I suppose if they really wanted to (yes, small-universe syndrome...) they could be clever and set up something with Prime Lorca in SNW (or S31) and have it resonate into DSC (S4 or S5) and/or S31 (or SNW).

That would need a big meshing of arcs -- and it would have to be a really good story, worth the telling -- but the circumstances of Lorca as a character and Isaacs as an actor certainly lend themselves to this. Scheduling could be a nightmare though, especially during Covid...

I would like to see Prime Lorca. I liked Mirror Lorca a lot first season so I would like to see Isaacs back. I'm curious to see how much different Prime Lorca is from Mirror Lorca.

Actors always bang on about only coming back "for a great story" and while I'm sure it's a factor if the money's right I'm sure Isaacs will be available. I like the idea of him being discovered in SNW although, based on what I've read, he's unlikely to get a multiple episode arc of it. I could see it being a nice nod to TOS Metamorphosis with him being located on a far off planet somewhere, though.

From what I've heard of him at conventions of him propping up the bar til 5am, drinking, chatting and telling stories with fans, I don't think it's all about the money with him.

I wasn’t trying to imply that it was. I was referring to the vagueness of the thread title ;)

I wouldn't want to see Lorca come back for a cameo or for a few episode's worth of crammed-in story arc, to be honest.

I think the most interesting story to explore would be what happened when PU Lorca and MU Lorca switched places. What happened to PU Lorca when he appeared in the MU, and what was his ultimate fate. How did MU Lorca recognize what had happened to him and make the adjustments / maneuvering he needed to in order to position himself? What happened to the PU USS Buran?

It has the makings of a great 2-hour tele-movie, or a series of Short Treks....or however you want to roll it out.

Frankly, I'm not sure why they haven't thought of it already. It seems to me like it would be a complete no-brainer, and would be relatively cheap (meaning, it's more character drama than a bunch of visual effects and pew-pew).

Star Trek Online managed to get Issacs to do a voice role for two missions and an event, and they can't even afford Kate Mulgrew, so I wonder how that worked. Guessing CBS might have helped in some way idk. Or Jason is cheaper than Kate

Star Trek Online kinda did it, but you don't actually see the transfer take place, your character if off somewhere else when the shit goes down on the Buran.

It's not exactly spelled out for you, you have to pay attention to how Lorca acts the first time you encounter him, and when you encounter him again in the next mission.

Those who have watched Discovery would probably catch on, but those who have never seen Discovery, or thel viewers that may have forgotten Mirror Lorca's story probably wouldn't notice anything.

Admiral Vance: Captain Burnham, it's about time that you know that you're not the first 23rd century refugees we've had around here. Let me introduce the Federation President, Gabriel Lorca.

    Burnham: Lorca?

Lorca: I'm sorry, have we met?

    Burnham: Er, no, not exactly.

Lorca: No need to explain, I read all about your mishaps with my evil counterpart. I was stuck in the Mirror universe for a long time. Crossed the Terran Empire one too many times, and one tantalus field used on me later, and here I was in the 32nd century! I've been here ever since.

Lorca would not be president. Yes, that's the most unbelievable part I took from that.

That is almost awful enough to imagine it being written by someone on their staff.
