Thank You one of the four I am still waiting on, so I said screw it and ordered one. I just don't trust Eaglemoss on some things.

Do you already have the model and magazine? Does the preview page show any new ships?

I got the Zhang He. I like the design, but hate the lack of a deflector dish, just an ugly... cargo bay? Maybe we were never supposed to see the keel?

Yeah I got the first three all in one shipment about a month ago. I am in the US. The previews images include 2 of the same images from the 2nd issue with the snake head Romulan small craft replacing the image where the ship Seven of Nine was piloting.

Wait - it is supposed to have a forward-facing blue main deflector behind a protective grill at the front of the secondary hull. I'm assuming it is neither painted, nor possesses blue clear plastic, like other models to indicate there should be a deflector in that spot?

Are you sure? The orthographic renders in the magazine don't show any blue glow either. Marc Bell's model and the STO model have all kinds of additional details that the screen-used version doesn't have.

Huh... Thought I was sure. It’s the same kind of grille work that they had on the impulse engines, which is why the red light could only be seen straight on and not at angels. I guess it’s entirely possible that these models were rushed so horribly and so incompletely that they never actually had the time to add the deflector glow in the usual spot and Eaglemoss simply just copied the error.

Indeed. Depending on what hull material is used, and what vanity shield is applied, the grill either doesn't glow, or glows in a color.

New Twitter post by Ben: https://twitter.com/BenCSRobinson/status/1405940958785572866?s=20

Earth Person (@ScorpionJungle) asked: "Any chance we can get some Expanse ships before the last season airs? Would love a Roci, Pella, etc."
Ben replied: "They are on the way… more news soon."

For those of you who watch The Expanse, what ships do you reckon are an almost certainty?
I know that the Rocinante, a repurposed Martian frigate Tachi, is the hero ship.

Well I would guess that eaglemoss is going to do what they did with the Orville line only a few ships to test market. If so I would guess the Rocinante and the Razorback are the two most likely. After that I would guess the Nauvoo/ Behemoth/ Medina Station would be likely. Then stuff that was key the Donnager, the Canterbury, Tycho Station, maybe an earth destroyer. After that you can then dig into things (if sales warrant). Ships from both Mars and Earth Fleet, some belters ships, Mao’s yacht etc.

Tycho Station's GOT to be an XL special. That thing was frickin' enormous!

I wasn't planning to buy a ship this week, particularly this one, but I was out for a lengthy bike ride yesterday, and since I was going to pass my local store, I decided to pop in. I was thinking the Alice, which I almost bought last time, but I noticed this time that they had the Melbourne in stock. I was dubious about that one, but I decided, what the he ll?

It's still a fairly silly design, in my opinion, with the tiny nacelles on top (obviously taken from an Enterprise-D model of a different scale), but they did a good job, and it's interesting to see the secondary hull, which is noticeably longer than either the Honshu or Phoenix. Nice job on the saucer detail, as well.

An XL Nauvoo paired with a normal-sized Tycho might be close to being to scale.

The PIC sub bird of prey has arrived! (UK)

I've been looking forward to this ship. Seeing it in person, I find it would be perfect as TOS movie-era refit of the classic Romulan bird of prey, analog to the K't'inga-class was to the D7.

I got the Section 31 station yesterday. It’s a big, detailed model but it’s just not very interesting. Feels like something that would be in a steampunk universe. Doesn’t feel Star Trek at all.

Looks like a seedy prison, no frills. I like it.

It’s not a prison though. If it was some alien prison facility, that would make more sense.
