The physical model of the Nebula class actually has surprisingly little that would have been copied from the Galaxy model. The nacelles and nacelle struts appear to be it. The secondary hull is totally different, bulkier in the middle, blunter on the back, with a totally different shape on the deflector dish. The saucer is close, but is missing windows on the lower decks of the upper surface, no impulse engine cutouts, and almost none of the slanted window inserts on the lower surface. Both hulls have a taller band around the middle too.

It's not until the CGI model was built for DS9 that it basically became a 'rearranged' Galaxy, and that's what the Eaglemoss models are based on.

They did get the window registration right with their large Orville replica, it can be done

Aren't the saucer and nacelles supposed to be... parallel?

In an ideal world! I don't know if the camera angle is distorting it a bit?

Otherwise looks nice, though I think the aztecing is a bit heavy.

Some pics on the stand. Maybe these angles are better. I’m not the best picture taker.

Someday, I wanna see a scene where someone in the bottom of the saucer waves hi to someone on top of the engineering section XD

Hmm... Those nacelle centerlines definitely appear to be angled up slightly, relative to the saucer centerline.

I find it interesting that the Starfleet emblem on the pylons are different from the ones on the nacelles and at the bottom of the secondary hull…Still not a deal breaker, but nacelles not on the same line as the saucer section can potentially become one…fingers crossed

P.S. The two gray dots that stood out at the back of the saucer section on each side are supposed to be the impulse engines, yes they are tiny for a ship this size, but oh well!

I think they were always consistent on the physical miniature, but the different symbols are accurate to the CG model.

Oh yeah, that's interesting. I guess they changed the nacelle pennants at a late stage to the modern Defiant/Voyager style and didn't change the dorsal decals.

You could kill off a huge number of conquistadors with that much Aztecing.

I always found it odd that the arrowhead is mirrored on the starboard side. It's very obvious in FC, and I can't unsee it XD

I hope to see more reviews of Nebula XL. I just might pull the trigger. I am also curious if they will come out with a Titan XL?

    That'd be jazzy!

On my secret hope list would also be USS Aventine, USS Enterprise-F, USS Prometheus, IKS Negh'Var and probably another I can't think of right now.

The ship's appearance in a canon show should at least make it more likely.

The post arrived today and I was sure it was going to be issue 3 of the Universe sub.
It was a GamePrint delivery instead, bringing me models of the canon Hazari destroyer, IDW comic-based USS Somerville (the ship that discovers Prototaxites stellaviatori) - and the ISS Defiant NCC-1764 in its Terran Warship config of 2256.

I'm happy to add another canon ship to my collection but also a bit sad Eaglemoss didn't get around to it.
The Terran-makeover (Terrorised?) Defiant was only seen as a wireframe model but it sure would be a great seller if Eaglemoss took a stab at it.

What makes me really miffed is that Kar Kantar's bird of prey has been on the webshop for almost a week now but instead of grabbing it, I'm waiting for the sub to arrive. Back in the mid-2010s, subs were sent out just before or at the same time they became available in shops and the webshop.
    /whineover

Personally, I'm hoping the reports I've heard that it matches the TOS and ENT birds of preys in size are true, because they'd make a great set.

Sorry to say it is larger. It's about an inch longer, and about an a little more than an inch wider.
