Eckstein is almost 40. Dawson is 42.

If Eckstein was suitable to play a live action Ahsoka, they would have used her in The Mandalorian. Any live action Ahsoka appearances are going to be Dawson, even if that's in the Obi-Wan show or even a live action Clone Wars era flashback. We'll just have to squint and pretend she's young in those scenes. Meanwhile Eckstein will always do Ahsoka's voice in animated productions, even if it's set post ROTJ.

Given what we saw in Rebels, I really don't think Ahsoka had any contact with Obi-Wan between RotS and ANH. There's maybe a *tiny* window between 'Twilight of the Apprentice'/'World Between Worlds' and ANH, but that still about half a decade *after* 'Kenobi'. So Rosario or Ashley playing a contemporary Ahsoka is most likely off the table.

As I've said before, IF she was going to show up it'll likely be in a flashback to the Clone Wars. In which case there are three options: 1) cast a teen to play the role of Padawan Ahsoka in it's entirety, 2) cast a teen as a body double and have Ashley dub over her voice, 3a) cast a teen as a body double, deepfake a de-aged Rosario's face onto her and have either Rosario or 3a) Ashley do the voice.
While all are feasible, for various reasons I suspect option 2 has the best balance of cost, practicality and respect for the character. Option 1 seems like a hard sell, especially for the audience that grew up with Ahsoka, while options 3a & b involve an awful lot of faffing around. The only reason I can see them taking that route is if they specifically want to capitalise on Hayden & Rosario's pre-existing chemistry (they're old acting school classmates.)
If that's the case then then scene would have to be about them, which instantly makes it seem out of place on a show about Kenobi. Therefore it's probably best to save it for Ahsoka's own show, where it'll actually make sense and have a purpose beyond pure fan service.

I'm pretty sure they'd probably cast somebody younger if we see TCW era Ahsoka. I just don't see anyway Rosario Dawson could pull off 15 even with the Ahsoka makeup.

Only if it's in a flashback.

If she actually shows up during the events of the show, she'd be 27/28. Dawson looks pretty young for her age as it is, let a lone under alien makeup/prosthetic and CGI help.

As I said, that's very unlikely. Indeed, there's even a scene in Rebels where she specifically laments not being able to consult Obi-Wan or Yoda and is visibly shocked that Ezra has a way to do so. I really don't think she interacted with Kenobi in this time period, or indeed even know if he was still alive.
In the Ahsoka novel, even Bail keeps it from her, and is worried she might sense who Leia really is. So far as we know, Ahsoka is in the dark about Anakin's children and Kenobi's mission.

I already thought Ezra meeting Kenobi was almost too much. Ahsoka definitely should not, given everything we know so far.

That does not necessarily preclude Ahsoka showing up, though. I like people walking past each other in these kind of situations. Though there would be no story reason for her to. Besides, it's one of the less likely shows for her to pop in:
    • She will appear in Ahsoka, likely in Rangers of the New Republic and possibly The Book of Boba Fett as they reach their common culmination. Thrawn?
    • She will nearly certainly appear in the Bad Batch – clearly the contact between the Montez sister and Rex.
    • She could appear in Andor as the woman behind the curtain (could be voice only role?) – she should be running the intelligence networks that he is, or becomes, a part of.
    • She's more likely to pop in Rogue Squadron or Lando than in the Kenobi series. The former are at least part of the rebellion so they would bump into each other at Yavin, and the latter have unknowingly collaborated on at least one mission.

By contrast, Kenobi and Ahsoka should have never met. Or, at least, known to have met. Before his death. If she hears of Kenobi, it should be in the Ahsoka show, from Anakin's force ghost. Or Anakin and Obi-Wan together?

Then again, Rey has made it to Rebels where she was not born yet, so you could shoehorn Ahsoka in everything as far as the Acolyte. And, contrary to common sense, so far Star Wars has successfully made such moves to not suck.

As of right now, Rangers of the New Republic isn't happening anymore. That might change (I wouldn't be surprised) but it's not moving forward at this time.

She's one of the voices Ezra heard in the Jedi temple before (or after, I forget exactly when) rescuing Ahsoka.

Why? Her inclusion demonstrated how that section of the temple was outside of time. She wasn't the only one heard from the future.

Unnecessary and uninteresting. But, I'm not a fan of temporal anomalies in the first place. But, to my mind it just strikes me as odd. Probably makes more sense in context.

Definitely does. I highly recommend watching those episodes before judging. They were among my favorite episodes of Rebels.

I mean, I have, just been a while. It was a concept so far out there that I had to turn it off.

Well...it's not that far out there. Especially for science fiction. :shifty:

In terms of Star Wars it was for me. Science fiction doesn't mean I buy everything put out there.

It's fantasy space magic; It's really not trying to sell it on the scientific plausibility.
That said, the netherworld of the Cosmic Force has already been established as being a place where time has no meaning. Indeed, how else do you think Jedi get visions of possible futures? How did Anakin "see" things before they happen? How did Luke see a City in the Clouds and his friends in pain before they'd even been captured?
Honestly, this is one of those rare cases in Star Wars where it's actually more science than fantasy, even if unintentionally. If it seems weird and illogical, well welcome to the world of actual quantum physics and four dimensional causality!

Who said anything about plausibility? It just didn't make sense, looked weird on screen, and completely ruined any suspension of disbelief in that moment. I'm sure if I revisit the episode now it might make more sense. I don't care about plausibility so much as I care about coherency. This was one that didn't seem coherent in light of past aspects of the universe.

ANd I've studied quantum physics and four dimensional causality. That's interesting stuff. That's not what I watch Star Wars for.

Such a thing could allow two people who are so in sync with each other to teleport items across space-time.

Though one wonders if Palpatine's attempt on Ezra and Ahsoka was from the future, rather than the present. Like him having failed to tempt Ezra later and he later tries to work his way in by other means.
