Justice League official "Zack Snyder" cut on HBO Max

I haven't heard Zack himself's opinion, but in a recent interview with Deborah she seemed pretty respectful of the WB.

Aren't the studio heads who wouldn't want to see the Snyder Cut succeed (the ones who brought in Whedon and were dead set on the release date so they could get their bonuses) all gone?

I can't tell if you're being serious, but how would that be hush money? They don't give him that money, that's the budget for post production on the film.
By giving fans what they wanted WB thought this would be the end of it and they wouldn't have to hear about releasing the Snyder Cut anymore. WB also made this decision in 2020 as the pandemic took off and production on everything shut down. They weren't doing it out of kindness. Snyder wasn't paid for this version.

Hush money without actually giving the person money?

Of course not. It was (as they all are) a business decision. They did it for financial reasons.

I just got an email from HMV to say that my 4K steelbook has been shipped. Really looking forward to that. Have no idea what else is included. Probably just the trailers and that BTS feature

Captain, the HMV reports the 4k steelbook is shipping! I dunna know for sure!! I'm looking to the forward Jefferies tubes!!! I dunna know what else is included!!!! If I canna get the trailers and the BTS feature aligned, it's gunna blow for sure!!!!!!

My copy of the UK Blu-ray also just shipped (excuse me, "dispatched") from Amazon. So as soon as it arrives and I can carve out four hours to watch the thing, I'll have an opinion. ;)

My copy arrived. The film is indeed spread over 2 discs. The first 4 parts are on disc one and the remainder on disc 2.
There is sadly only one special feature called Road to the Justice League which is a Featurette of Snyder recalling his work over over all 3 DC movies.

Disappointing. This is a movie for hardcore nerds, and hardcore nerds want 6+ hours of extras for everything :)

And oddly, the extra feature is on disc one with the longer chunk of movie instead of disc two where there was way more space.

Yeah. I was expecting 3 parts on disc one. Maybe they thought it flows better with the 4 on one disc

Given the there was only the one 25 minute extra I thought it would all be on one Blu-Ray. I even put the second disk in first because the first was buried behind bumf for The Batman & The Suicide Squad. I enjoyed the film,
I just wish Superman had been wearing red, blue & yellow throughout. There was nothing on screen to indicate why he was in black & silver. It was even more galling because I knew it had been colour corrected in post from the proper colours. I also felt the 'knightmare sequence shouldn't have been a Bruce Wayne dream but featured at the point where Barry got the wind knocked out of him rather than during the epilogue.

The black and white suit is a homage to the death of Superman comic. He wore it there as it absorbed sunlight better helping with his recovery. The only thing missing was the mullet. Apparently he wasn’t allowed that. :)
I imagine the shear amount of audio tracks it has is the reason it’s on two discs. There’s 12 of them, including a audio descriptive one which are always fun to listen to. I mean what other movie will we get where the narrator says, “Batman blows his brains out” in a very calm casual voice.

I'm aware of the reference for the colours on the costume. But the way Zack Snyder spoke of why he did it in interviews didn't seem to be reflected on screen. There was nothing to have stopped Superman donning the proper costume. At the very least he could have worn it during the shirt rip scene at the end. Now, if as is likely the Snyderverse and Henry Cavill's Superman aren't seen again, our last view of him is in black and silver not red, blue & yellow :(.

Well if WB could get off their asses and make that MoS sequel, I’m sure they would show him transitioning back to the red and blue. We know he wears that one in the Knightmare sequences.
Speaking of the descriptive audio track, I did notice a mistake in it. At the end when Darkseid is doing his “old ways” speech, he refers to Granny Goodness as the “man with a staff”. :)

No, the last time we see him is in red and blue...and evil. Kind of fitting, really. ;)

Chronologically though, Superman is last seen in red and blue for his Shazam cameo, if that helps? I know it's not Cavill, but it is Superman. Mostly.

Keep in mind that the black and white suit is probably not canon anyway, with the previous version of JL being so
