Spoilers The Falcon and Winter Soldier discussion

Wakanda is the shit.

Even if 50 percent of the people disappeared, it's infrastructure and economy is not dependent on manpower.

All Africa is Wakanda.

Maybe part of Europe and Middle east too.

So frankly, the GRC is not going to have the muscle to do shit on that entire continent.

PS...

America has probably absorbed insignificant little countries too, under the guise of peace keeping of relief efforts.

Is Cuba on fire, or did their 1950s like economy just shrug, and ignore the blip?

The stars and stripes fly over Havana.

How can they put the world back to how it was when the countries that survived, who have tripled in size, will not give their newly acquired land back.

Why not relocate dispossessed people to the past?

Alternate timelines.

Not the GRC's problem any more.

Send people back to 1870 with cellphones, tasers and sports almanacs.

Infinite fucking Earths.

What more is there to say?

For you to say "Marvel is just arrowverse 2 now" is stretching things to the point of snapping.
...and..

It was an Obama style speech where he says a lot of things and when you think about it, nothing of value was actually said

One can only wonder what you thought about the substance of the speeches from the former president who lost in November of 2020.

There's so much good about this show that I'm trying to focus on that and not the utter garbage that is the stuff with Sharon Carter. It feels like "Oh Steve and everybody else forgot about her" is just an excuse for everybody at Marvel forgetting about her and then going "Oh right! Well she can be a bad guy now?" as if Steve would really have let that happen.

Everything with Sam, Bucky, and especially Isaiah Bradley was so good.

I think it depends on who you are and how invested with the comics you were. If you're someone who wasn't a huge comic book reader you prob didn't even know who Sharon Carter was when she first appeared in the MCU and in terms of the MCU she appeared in *ONE* movie.

Not sure about Kate Bishop since Hailee Steinfeld is definitely an adult (did True Grit really come out a decade ago? fuck that makes me feel old) and one assumes Kate is too...plus one has to wonder where the Sokovia Accords draws the line between 'enhanced' people and just really really skilled people with fancy toys.
Hailee Steinfeld is the same age as Tom Holland, so there's a pretty good chance that she'll be a teenager. With stuff like this, as long as the actor is under 30 there's a more than decent chance they're playing a teenager.

Two movies, Winter Soldier and Civil War.
IGN's Jesse Shedeen has posted an article about Sharon possibly being a Skrull, but he added a new part to it that I like. She could end up playing the Spider-Woman and Veranke role from the Secret Invasion comics, with her being replaced, but then rescued and coming home and having to deal with the aftermath all of the stuff that her doppelganger did while using her identity. I think there's a lot of potential in a potential storyline like that.

Two actually, both Captain America sequels. And her first appearance was the best MCU movie so far (well, except maybe Guardians 1).

But even then it's pretty crummy because there was a big deal made about her being Peggy's descendant. How are you gonna believe that Steve wouldn't make sure that Peggy's great niece would be safe, let alone the woman he shared a kiss with?

ETA: on the other hand, the Skull idea is really cool and I'd totally take it back in that case.

Yeah and Holland looks less and less credibly teenaged with each appearance, which works fine for his character since by the time of the next movie Peter will be basically college age anyway. Oh and Hailee Steinfeld was just *barely* credible as a teenage girl in the Bumblebee movie, and that came out going on three years ago. I think it's a safe bet Kate will be early 20's at the very least.

Now THAT I could get behind. I've been wondering for a while if the chaos and confusion of the blip will found to have been very effectively used as cover for a mass Skrull infiltration.

Or more specifically, if you aren't a huge Captain America comic book fan. Because I'm a huge comic book fan but I never heard of her until The Winter Soldier.

Wasn't her character 18 years old in Bumblebee? A 20 year old playing an 18 year old isn't that far off.

I've seen actors older than them playing teenagers. In the original Roswell, the oldest cast member, Jason Behr, was 28 when the show ended, but the characters, including his, didn't graduate high school until the series finale.

Ok, and if either Charisma Carpenter, Nicholas Brendon, Garbrielle Carteris or Jason Behr were playing Peter Parker and/or Kate Bishop in any upcoming MCU projects 20 years ago, these would all be relevant observations. Alas!

Deforest Kelly looked 50 years old from his late 20's onwards, and Ming-Na Wen is outwardly immortal. See how this works?

She was in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War.

While we never saw what color of blue she had when she was shot, Skrull's have blue colored blood.
