Spoilers Janeway revealed

I'm a little surprised at the way they've chosen to portray Janeway on a modern kids show. She's shown here even skinnier than Mulgrew was in her best shape on the old show. I thought there was a big move today about positive and realistic body image, etc.? Janeway as shown here looks taller and thinner than 7 of 9, who was on the show deliberately as eye candy.
I agree. II mean, she was slim. But not extremely slim.

And I always felt that Janeway/ Mulgrew had a natural presence and authority while being of average height (or below) - certainly shorter than many of her opponents or officers. I think you could show that on a kids' animation show, too. Force 10 glare, anyone? Plus the voice, body language etc.

She's gonna be a training hologram!

Holo-Janeway is looking good.

I think that's why they are usually called "Caricatures" ...

It gets the idea across without being completely accurate.

Yeah it seems in this art style, people are either going to be tall, thin, and lanky or short, squat, and fat. There's no in-between.

I like the character design. Pretty sure her first dialogue is going to be telling them there's only two ways of doing things, the right way or the Janeway.

It's not a big deal for me, just smething I noticed.

However, while I'm not sure this kind of animtion even is "caricature" in a strict sense, "caricature" means taking existing traits (long nose, long legs, big feet, big hair, whatever) and exaggerating them. A caricature of Janeway would look very different. She'd probably be tiny.

I'm pretty sure she is being depicted smaller in stature ....

Remember, she is standing next to Children.
The Red Rock fella is probably 6 to 8 feet tall.

They're children, but supposedly teenagers/adolescents. So, we should assume that they are about the same height as an adult. The one on Holo-Janeway's right is probably fully grown, while the one on her left may have a few years.

The only one we can make any sort of judgment on is the Talaxian, but he seems awfully short. We didn't see any great inequalities in height amongst the Talaxians in the Homestead colony, and none of the little children had that level of facial hair (not counting ubiquitous mutton chops).

Either everyone's very tall, and he's really fat. Or he's just an unaverage short guy.

they are aliens, who knows when they grow up? And also among humans not everyone grows up at the same time.

Anyway, I was thinking it makes sense if the ship is in the Delta Quadrant: it perfectly explains why starfleet doesn’t recover it. We’ll have to se how it got there (and with a janeway hologram onboard), but there are plenty of plausible explanations

They’ve been described as "young aliens" and "teenage aliens". That's why I assume they are just "adolescents" and could be anywhere between 0 and 5000 years old. That robot might be built in the first episode, or it could've been scrap from the Tkon Empire.

"Computer? Activate Educational Command Hologram Janeway Delta."

ECH: "Report. Analysis. At ease, before you sprain something. What? No coffee for your teacher? I may be a hologram, but a hot mug or two is part of my morning sub-routine. I'm Admiral Kathryn Janeway. But you can call me Captain for the duration of this program. I've been a Borg drone, godmother to a Q, and a salamander, and access to those parameters is restricted. Try it and I'll shut down life support and inertial dampers."

Hmmm...less psychotic than I would expect.

I've always liked Janeway (and Mulgrew), even though I'm not a big Voyager fan, and I hope she gets a second act that's even better than the first. Be nice if she really gets a chance to shine in this show.

Back to the Delta Quadrant? Nothing like rehashing what came before...
