There are no words adequate enough, so I will just say I am very sorry for the loss of your sister and wish you and your family the best in this difficult time. You are in my thoughts.

Thanks, everyone, for your support and condolences.

Additional family members have either developed symptoms or tested positive. I myself started to have night sweats, a productive cough, and fever over the weekend. Even as I type this message, I'm waiting for a phone appointment with a doctor so I can seek medical guidance.

EDIT: And I've just been confirmed positive for Covid. At least it's official now, given the host of symptoms I've had lately. Now I'll just try to take it easy.

I hadn't checked on this thread in a while... I'm very sorry about your sister, Gryffindorian. And I also hope you and your other family members have quick recoveries.

Hi all. A lot has happened during the past several days. My dad passed away peacefully at home this past Tuesday, February 23, just 10 days after my eldest sister died. He was not even aware of the fact, which was likely for the best.

As I stated, my father had been in the hospital for two weeks, being treated with antivirals and receiving oxygen. Due to his age (85) and chronic health conditions, he was going to be put on hospice care, and he was brought home this past Monday. He was very happy to be home and reunited with even the very few of us in the house. In the early morning hours of Tuesday, he called for my mom, and they held each other's hands. Shortly after, my father was gone. With my mom's mental state, we don't know if she's fully grasped his departure, as she still calls him sometimes.

As sad as his this second passing is, my family was happy my dad got his wish to come home and be with his wife and family. Funeral arrangements have been made for next Saturday, and he will be buried at a military cemetery in Sacramento.

My sister's funeral yesterday was nice and simple. Few people were allowed to attend in person. I myself opted for a virtual viewing while I remotely delivered a eulogy by phone.

Sounds like a normal day to me at a grocery store, given that a work in one.

Had my first jab on Saturday and felt fine but on Sunday I was so lethargic I couldn't get out of bed for more than a few minutes. It felt like the flu but without any other symptom apart from fatigue. My knees ached as well and that hasn't happened since my teenage years and growing pains.

Feel back to normal today although my lips are chapped and that usually only happens when I've got a cold. Praise the Vaseline.

Got my 2nd shot of the Moderna vaccine on March 13. Reaction from shot 1 was just soreness at the injection shot for 3 days, had the same from shot 2 plus slight chills and fatigue the day after. No fever or other symptoms.

I've had one shot of the Pfizer one. Just sore arm for a few days, no other side effects.

So with the Ontario government announcing their updated vaccination guidelines on Monday, I figured I'd take a look at their site to get a rough idea of when I'd be eligible. Turns out I'm in "Phase 3", which is basically just everyone from age 17 to 59 who didn't qualify under any of the conditions in Phase 1 or Phase 2. Phase 3 is scheduled to begin in July, but the 75+ cohort in Phase 2 wasn't supposed to start until April, and they started a bit ahead of schedule, so maybe Phase 3 will as well.

So I can't register for a vaccination appointment yet. But my pharmacy sent me an email today announcing that they've launched a website where I can register to get a notification for when I may be eligible to register for an appointment, so that's... something, I guess?

    ^ Wow, that's really helpful.
I signed my mother up for the vaccine at the county covid website and she got her first dose. I signed up at the same time even though I knew it would be awhile until I was eligible. I just found out that when they started vaccinating people 50+ that they changed the website so I had to register all over again and most likely ended up at the back of the line.
