DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

I was just looking up some things, and saw that the expect release date of the Flash movie is Nov 4, 2002 and Aquaman is December 16 that next month.

I know COvid has messed some things up... and time would be REALLY tight..but shouldn't Flash be released in the summer, even as late as August? The only other DC movies scheduled in 2022 are The Batman at March 4, but then "DC Super Pets" (????) at May 20. WHat the heck is that, and why would THAT movie get such a sweet spot?

This is just one of the OTHER , NON-CREATIVE things behind the scenes that just hurts the DCFU and the IP's in general...

You mostly answered your own question. No release date is set in stone right now. Anything can be delayed or moved up to earlier dates. We will see how 2021 releases pan out. If anything is pushed to 2022 that would affect the whole year. Things are looking positive on the vaccine front but until we actually see new films get theatrical releases this year I would not presume anything. One studio changes a date and all the others have to adjust their own schedules.

At this point I am just happy to see The Batman finished filming. With two separate shutdowns it took over a year to film. Or The Flash start production. Once films are shot and complete they will be eventually released. Hopefully things will adjust to make that happen at a reasonable pace. But never forget how hard it was for anything to be filmed at all the past year.

Rewatched Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn for the first time since I saw it in theaters. I loved it just as much this time as I did the first. Margot Robbie really is absolute perfection as Harley.

This was my main complaint.

Also, imagine if Lex Luthor had been responsible for the destruction of the planet Krypton.

Lex Luthor destroys Krypton, and the radiation from the explosion gives Nora Fries a terminal illness and while Victor Fries is driving like crazy to rush her to the hospital, he sideswipes Victor Stone's car and causes Victor's catastrophic injuries, and the sound of the car crash surprises Joe Chill, who accidentally pulls the trigger on his gun and kills Thomas Wayne.

I think that movie's been done. But Plastic Man is involved in there somehow.

The radiation also causes Abin Sur's ship to crash on Earth, and on the way down it clips Steve Trevor's wing and makes him crash on Themyscira. On the ocean below, Oliver Queen is startled by the midair collision and falls off his yacht.

The same radiation then triggers a thunderstorm that spawns the lightning bolt that strikes Barry Allen. Professor Erdel is in the lab next door and the shock gives him a heart attack just as the lightning supercharges his teleporter and lets it reach Mars.

Now they are saying that Emerald Fennel, who was a writer for Killing Eve and is the Oscar nominated writer/director of Promising Young Woman, is working on a Zatanna movie for DC and JJ Abrams.
According to IGN there's no word on whether or not it's connected to the Justice League Dark projects, but I would think the fact that Abrams is involved in the movie and the JLD stuff is a pretty good indicator that it probably is.
I've liked Zatanna in the stuff I've seen her in, and everybody seems to love Killing Eve and Promising Young Woman, so this has potential to be really good.

I checked Wikpedia and was surprised to see that the only time we've have a live-action Zatanna thus far was on Smallville.

I'd been hoping she'd show up in the Arrowverse (Legends would probably have been best), but the movie announcement makes that unlikely.

Does michael Keaton sound a little doubtful about returning as Batman for The Flash? https://deadline.com/2021/03/michae...g-ensemble-award-record-interview-1234719059/
He has been playing the game of being coy about his involvement this whole time.

Couple of different reasons for that I suspect. WB I am sure has their own time table on when they want things about the movie to be revealed. Contractually he may not be able to talk yet. Also he started out as a stand up comic. He is probably enjoying all these teases.

Wait. Wait. Wait.

There's going to be a Zatanna movie? Seriously?

(It is at this moment I am saddened TBBS doesn't have a headbang emoji.)

Huh, I thought she'd popped up for one episode in Arrow, but it looks like I was wrong about that.

As for the smallville version, I believe she's in The Coroner at the moment.
