I think the 4k version with the same name as the old one has the enhancements. Not sure about hd version.

Ray Fisher and Joe Morton sure got screwed the worst with the 2017 cut.

No wonder fisher has been acting how he has.

The Black and white version? I think it's coming later on down the line.

In the 2017 version he seemed a bit more like a loser who screwed things up for the League and was clumsy. I like that he comes off as more of a hero here.

I think it’s paced really well up leading up to the resurrection of Superman but it never quite gets back up to stride after that. I did enjoy the epilogue as fan service as it was. Made for a long night but I’ve been waiting for it.

I think what surprised me most about watching this, is that it didn't leave me as inclined to poke holes in the plot as the previous Snyder DC movies did. Not that they're not there (indeed, there's a couple major ones that made me raise an eyebrow at the time) but overall the film left me satisfied, which is honestly surprising. Maybe it was because I went into this with very low expectations? I'm not sure. It probably helped that I opted not to rewatch the Joss cut ahead of this, so I wasn't overly burdened by having to remember or analyse exactly what's new and what's old and enjoy the experience. Also that I deliberately paced myself and didn't' try watching it all in one hit.
I've not played it, but isn't Injustice a strictly fighty-fight punch-punch game? I mean whatever plot one comes up with for one of those is bound to be both paper thin and predisposed to contriving some scenario in which 1-on-1 fights are a frequent occurrence. By which I mean to say that the story isn't the point of the game, the game is the point of the story, so it should be lazy.

Haven't seen the film yet, but that sounds like an effort at "country folk" talk to me. I know I've been addressed as "Mr. [First Name]" by people from the Deep South many times. Martha's not Southern, of course, but it's a similar culture.

If it is that, it's weird and out of character for my perception of Martha Kent. This or any other version.

I saw lots of clickbait articles about which version of JL is canon, after a comment from Snyder that the Whedon version still is. But having seen the Snyder cut it really doesn't make any difference? The movie is infinitely better, the backstory infinitely deeper, but the only real differences in the status quo afterwards are the looming threat of Darkseid (and there's always something bigger and badder looming, whether he actually makes it to Earth or not in this lifetime), and Bruce is still having apocalyptic dreams.

It might matter more if Cyborg still had future appearences pending, or Affleck's version of Batman (who I think is set to have a little cameo at the start of Flashpoint, if it ever happens) were to be an ongoing thing. Wonder Woman 1984's already ignored the BvS/JL idea she was withdrawn for 100 years.

You'd have to pretend that Mera smacked her head and lost her weird "British" accent though. If nothing else, looping all her dialogue without the accent for the theatrical cut was a good choice. ;)

Kidding aside, I tend to agree. Sure there are differences and what amount to dropped plot threads, but does it really matter in the end? It's hard to imagine future films strongly referencing either version very much.

Apparently not. He says in this interview that it was all new material, he started over completely. (Partially to distance himself from negative memories of the original project distortion.) https://consequenceofsound.net/2021/03/kyle-meredith-with-junkie-xl/

Thought I read somewhere that Mera’s an orphan in this? If so, that’s a major inconsistency with Aquaman, in which her father is a key player.

Oh yeah, that is a pretty big contradiction! I was too focussed on her accent to register what was being said.

Well there is a whole comic line called Injustice as well.

Yeah, but it still spins out of the video game.

    Good point, of course.

I had a job at a southern K-Mart of all things in another lifetime and there was an older woman that worked the registers that went by Ms. Cora out of respect. It was never said explicitly but I got the impression that if I ever didn't say Miss that I'd at minimum lose that job and at worse might be limping home (not by her but by everyone else).

While well meaning, I'm sure, at this point we really could use a great American hero of Asian descent. I know we have Shang Chi coming up but I'm thinking just like a straight up hero type without kung fu or mysticism, just a regular guy.

Even so the storyline in the comic was far more interesting that the video game ever was.

Kinda loving the irony of "Injustice can't be good, it's based on a video game" in a thread about movies that are based on comic books.go back in time 20 years and

"This movie can't be good, it's based on a comic book!"

Do videogame tie-ins still have that stigma? The first Resident Evil killed it for me.

Despite Uwe Boll's best efforts to bring it back.

Do you mean Paul Anderson? I don't think Uwe Boll was ever associated with Resident Evil (House of the Dead? maybe).
