Why the hate for Disco?

Pretty sure everything. I only watched it once in theaters and don't have a desire to watch it agan, but I believe that Khan in this silly timeline was a starfleet section 31 special soldier. You should watch the episode "Space Seed." Of course Khan cared about his crew and his wife was a starfleet officer.
His backstory is unchanged in Into Darkness. In this timeline he was revived by Marcus instead of Kirk (and his people held hostage), and he was used to design weapons for use against the Klingons.

If he cared about his people as much in Wrath of Khan as he did Into Darkness, he wouldn't have let them all die. In that movie, his hatred of Kirk outweighed everything else.

Yeah, we learned Moby Dick from his obsession. What did we learn from "Into Darkness"?? How did that movie enlighten you? Freaking lame score too

The most popular villain ever in Star Trek?

Yup, no reason to redo him. No one even remembers the guy.:shrug::shrug::wtf:
While you are trying to be facetious and clever, this line of thinking is what drives Hollywood's unoriginal creative mindsets. When something was classic, and owned by the actors that portrayed them, performances that last a lifetime; you don't redo them.

I learned Moby Dick from Moby Dick:lol:
Into Darkness was a condemnation of the US' drone warfare, Trek's most on-the-nose moral message since TOS. Did you miss it?

And the score was awesome. Especially Khan's theme, "London's Calling"

At least they showed the Augments' human side and compassion for their fellow kind and the raw emotion of Khan in protecting the other supermen and women from harm
Uhhh so did the original Khan in the television show when he made his entrance and concluding in the film. Y'all really should watch the television show where he was introduced before jumping to these conclusions.

People have been retelling stories and putting new spins on them for centuries. Since before television and movies. Just because you like one version of it and hold it sacred doesn't mean everyone should stop doing it.

Star Trek has been trying that for the past couple of films as well. As well as the idea that humanity has been retelling similar stories for a lot longer than Hollywood has been around. The question is in what way and how do people respond to it. A classic doesn't mean one can touch it again. Otherwise, why did TWOK involve so many Moby Dick references?

LOL this is a stretch, bub
Nope. Right there in the dialog, and consistent with what I was hearing on the news at the time.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha hah aha haha

You're making a very poor impression with this kind of stuff. This place isn't facebook or reddit. People here typically debate issues pretty thoughtfully, and we don't act immaturely (well....most of the time we don't anyway) when we are confronted with conflicting points of view.

You might want to try a different approach. This is a great place to talk about Star Trek. Don't screw yourself by coming across poorly right out of the gate.

Don't talk down to us about this. I have been watching TOS since I was a toddler and that's likely longer than many people on this board have been around. I have a lot of criticisms of STID and stand by them. I'm just throwing the producers a bone for getting something right and making Khan a feeling human like he was in TOS and TWOK.
