Spoilers WandaVision discussion thread

So basically, the first season was just an introduction into the Scarlet Witch. Makes you wonder what they have planned for next season.
What makes you think there will be a next season?
At least not anytime soon.
These series seem to be alternative MCU feature stories that could not be told in movie form.

It sure sounded like Feige was non-commital on there even being a second season planned. Sounded like this and Falcon/Winter Soldier are more like events leading to the next series of Marvel movies and not specifically planned out for multiple seasons unlike some of the other announced series like Miss Marvel, Loki, and Hawkeye.

The series was meant as lead-in to her having a substantial role in the next Dr. Strange film. Given how popular Wandavision was and people became invested in her and other characters I think it's certainly possible some type of sequel will happen, although I think it could wind up just being a 5 or 6 episode thing.

If there is a second season, it won't be announced until after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has hit theaters, and I doubt that it would be "WandaVision" as that scenario has played out.

That said, they have left a lot of threads open for further exploration if they were to give these characters another 6 hours of storytelling time.

I doubt Feige will ever announce a 'second season' to these types of shows at all. Because they're not being conceived as seasons in a single, distinct, ongoing story. They're specific moments/events in the much larger canvas of the MCU.

Wanda will probably get another D+ show sometime after DS2 comes out, but I highly doubt anyone official will ever call it WandaVision season 2, and they may not even call it a 'sequel to WandaVision' since so much will have happened in the movies in between. It will be considered its own separate thing, so any journalist asking them about 'WandaVision season 2' is going to get a completely truthful answer that is entirely wrong anyway.

I wonder if White Vision went away without seeing her was because he would be afraid of her recreating her sitcom life again only with a real Vision involved this time. Maybe she didn't so much learn her lesson as she wants to recreate it only in away that doesn't backfire and a real Vision along with the Darkhold could make it work. Maybe even in her isolated home away from other people. Instead of altering people create them from scratch which might even be how we get Mutants. Jason

True but there's no guarantee for a second season. Like I said before, I don't expect an announcement for such a hypothetical season until after The Multiverse of Madness. Whatever happens in that film will effect her future and such an announcement could spoil that development.

Emma Caulfield Ford confirms that she was hired for the specific purpose of being a red herring.

Well, that certainly worked on some people.

Honestly, the simplest comparison is to the Hulk. In Westview, Wanda Hulked out. She was overcome by emotions she couldn't control and her powers took over. She hurt people. Then she came to her senses and the hurting stopped. Where do we place the blame? Is it black and white? What are the nuances that we should look at? Grief does strange and terrible things to ordinary people, what does it do to virtual gods?
It's interesting that you make this comparison because I found the ending, with Wanda off on her own at some remote cabin in the middle of nowhere, remarkably similar to the ending of The Incredible Hulk.

Yes, I admit that definitely worked on me. Though I was very glad to see that unlike the informant angle, they actually did have an important role for her character in the end so that it didn't feel like a totally wasted fake-out.

The White Vision is a being with no emotion whatsoever. Yes it now has the memories that were blocked from it; but it doesn't process them in the same way the previous version of the Vision did. Plus in general it's a lot of data to process in itself. So I think the White Vision went off to find a place where it could do that and decide on its next course of action.

What that will be is anyone's guess and I'm sure Kevin Feige and the MCU writers will tackle in a future MCU series or film.

Yeah, I'm still disappointed that the informant angle was nothing but a weak set-up to bring Monica to Westview.

Yup, that's exactly my read on the situation. I don't expect him to appear in The Multiverse of Madness, but he'll return in due time after a long, hard think.

As general observation it’s too bad that some viewers let theories go wild ( Dottie is Emma Frost was notable) and perhaps lost sight that the show is about Wanda.

Found this the best, most ambitious, and most emotionally resonant thing the MCU has made, and last scene between Wanda and Vision the single best scene in the whole MCU.

After this show, and especially episodes 8 and 9, I think Elizabeth Olsen is the best actress working today. Paul Bettany is absolutely tremendous as well.

Also nice to see the continuing story points , of course, looking forward to the further adventures of white Vision.

I’ve seen some speculation that the character the Skrull mentioned to Monica is Carol but the Skrull did say “he” twice, so I think she is talking about Nick Fury.

As a Trek related point, Paul Bettany would make an excellent Captain.

He played an excellent Dr. McCoy/Mr. Spock in Master & Commander

Yep Master and Commander is a wonderful Star Trek film (and no I'm honestly not kidding in any way at all. One could also watch the limited series of Horatio Hornblower with Ian Gulfold that was made around 12 years ago. It's also very decent Star Trek.)

As to Paul Betanny's character in Master and Commander, It was definitely Dr. McCoy. ;)

I'm glad you chose to stick with it and keep an open mind.

Well, we always knew that it was going to get weird, which made it easier to deal with the start. But really I could have skipped the first 2-3 episodes and have been fine, since Episode 4 (where we first see Darcy) recaps the first three episodes really well from the perspective of people outside Westview. When I rewatch the series in the future, I'll definitely just skip to episode 4.

Still, once they got past the frustratingly awful parodies of the first few decades of sitcoms it became a solid show, and when they dropped the sitcoms entirely it lead to genuinely great stuff, so overall the series was worth watching and on the whole very good. I just wish they'd gotten weird from episode one and not forced me to sit through parodies of The Dick Van Dyke Show d Bewitched that were played almost completely straight without really any mystery stuff.

How long have you been watching Marvel ?

I've had them sweeping up popcorn around me in the theatre back in the day...

I did watch the first Ironman but my general take on the franchise is "Only if it's an Avengers film or gets really good reviews/word of mouth". But in this case I've been mousing over the slider to see if anything else but the credits come up.

I just have no idea who that green shapeshifter thing is or if I'm supposed to know who she's referencing.
