First impressions - bit of a bit letdown, to be honest.
I'm interested in where this is heading (What do they have in store for The Scarlett Witch? What has Wanda unleashed? Vision... ), but, something felt off. This didn't "feel" like a finale to the series I've just watched over the past several weeks. It was too much your standard OTT VFX-laden Marvel fist fight. I normally enjoy that. But here, it just felt ... off (as well as rushed).
Expected something a bit more engaging upstairs. Felt like a lot of nuance fell thru the cracks to accommodate epicness.
All that said, I did kind of enjoy it. Perhaps if this had been a season finale rather then the series finale (literally!) I would have found it more satisfying.
Also, Pietro... Come on. There's got to be more to this then meets the eye. Otherwise, I'm not impressed with your clever little subvert expectations troll, dicks.
Rewatching in the next couple of days so opinion subject to change as always.
When his name was revealed as Ralph BOHNER... It seemed like it could be a fake identity... but the way he reacted to Monica when he was 'de-powered' by removing the magical necklace and returned to his normal identity didn't really mesh with the possibility that somehow Quicksilver Fox Universe ended up here, and assumed a different identity. We have seen Quicksilver lose his powers before after "No More Mutants" so you perhaps you could have spun it that it that somehow he crossed over into this realm, but the mutant gene is somehow 'deactivated' upon arrival until Mutants get awakened at some point.
It just feels like a producers 'high-five each other' as they trolled the fans type thing.
