Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

really off topic but the ''taboo'' about discussing wage with coworker and people should really go away since it just allows employer to screw over employee anyway back to lurking
Even though I find it impolite I certainly don't find it taboo. I just discussed it recently with coworkers. But, I've seen both sides of it both being a positive and a negative.

I don't think it's just a matter of "I need the cash!"

I remember from the '90s, when I read interviews with him -- probably from Starlog or Star Trek: The Official Fanclub Magazine (those were the main two I used to buy, in addition to Cinescape Magazine later on) -- that Alexander Siddig was a fan of TNG even before he was cast for DS9. He made a guest-appearance on TNG in "Birthright, Part I" but never actually made an appearance with Picard himself. Maybe he sees this as a second chance to share some screen-time with Patrick Stewart.

And before someone tries to hit me with "They all said they were fans of TNG!" No. Terry Farrel said she used to watch TOS when she was a kid. She didn't say anything about TNG. Avery Brooks wasn't a Star Trek fan. Colm Meany and Michael Dorn were obviously in TNG. And I don't know the story for the rest of the cast, but I think they were non-fans. Alexander Siddig was the big TNGer.

Don't ask me to share the articles. I probably threw out the magazines themselves ~20 years ago.

I've watched enough DS9 cast reunion things online to know that SIddig, Nana Visitor, and Armin Shimmerman will show up for virtually anything. If there's a panel, they will be on it.

But yeah, out of the DS9 alums, really Siddig and Colm Meany are the only ones who have had what I would call a prominent post-Trek career.

He was a highlight of DS9, mostly because of the nature of his character. He was outacted by most of the other leads and even recurring guest actors but it's hard to imagine DS9 without Julian's starry-eyed idealism and increasingly cynical yet still hopeful outlook on the galaxy.

You know the news situation is dire when sites like Trekmovie resort to clickbait headlines you'd expect from We Got This Covered et al... I mean how difficult can it be to just let them shoot the show and wait for information? If there's something to be told, it will be told by those involved.

This.

I get it; fans want information and sites want clicks. But patience is a virtue is not just a lesson for kids. There is such a thing as delayed gratification. The shows will happen and we will know.

Yes it It doesn't mean John Delancie will return as Q for Picard season 2. Just because Jonathan Frakes posted old convention pictures on his twitter page. And because Trekmovie posted this as news doesn't mean someone will star in season 2 of Picard.
