Never. Season 2 of Picard will be all about Peanut Hamper's Revenge.I imagine the synthetic ban probably resulted in the genocide of the Exocomps.

Only if we take Freeecloud as a prime example of all of Federation life. They definitely went out of their way to make the future dreary as fuck in the live action shows.

"After twenty years of floating in space, she's back...and the galaxy will not be safe."
Now hey, are you the same as you were 20 years ago?And they'll just visually retcon Peanut Hamper to be twice as big and a different color.
Only if we take Freeecloud as a prime example of all of Federation life.
I didn't find the setting dreary at all. Picard's story starts out but doesn't end there .I didn't see Freecloud as dreary at all.![]()
I thought Freecloud was outside of the Federation?Only if we take Freeecloud as a prime example of all of Federation life.

I have still yet to parse exactly where the importance of canon came from but it is something that makes very little sense to me. No one has been able to answer to me what canon status means in terms of enjoyment,he entire concept of 'adhering to canon' is very new, only really surfacing within the last decade and a half or so. And is really just a marketing tactic used to placate and pander to a small few.

I only use headcanon to fill in gaps. And, even then, there are very few that I actually adopt. One of these days someone is going to have to explain 'headcanon' to me.
Which is why I have no issues with DSC and TOS existing together.According the the novelization of STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE, James Kirk flat out stated that the missions set in "TOS" were exaggerated on purpose for public consumption. I am going to take that approach when addressing LD's canon status.
