Loved the concept and story. I also just gave my younger brother a copy of the book mere weeks ago as a late Xmas gift. He told me to just get him a book. He’s a fan Zelazny’s Amber series, as am I (currently re-reading for first time in almost 20 years) so this was the book I gave him. Now if only there was some news on that Amber series.
There was supposed to be an Amber series in the works, but haven't heard any word on it in forever. Hopefully this show will be good enough to help get that made. However, if you'd ever told me that we'd see a "Roadmarks" series before an Amber series, I would've asked you to give my some of what you're smoking. Hell, there are several far more 'bigger' works from Zelazny that I would've thought would've been made before 'Roadmarks', mainly because 'Roadmarks' always seemed one of his lesser known and smaller works. But I always did love the concept. Because it's not just a road through time, but also different timelines. When history is changed, new branches of The Road are created, new exits. The main character, Red Dorakeen, is always trying (and failing) to run guns to the ancient Greeks to help them at the battle of Marathon in order to recreate or revive a certain branch off the road. That's about the main gist of what I remember, I picked up the ebook (so I can keep my physical copy looking nice) several months ago, and it's on my re-read list after the Amber series.
