Donny's Late TNG Era Interiors

I was under the impression all of the Enterprise-E sets were dismantled for storage between films. Weren't some of the bridge walls (originally from the Enterprise-A/Excelsior) used for the Prometheus and possibly Equinox on Voyager?

IIRC, they had to build a new bridge set for the Excelsior for the VOY episode "Flashback," though they were able to scrounge up some of the TUC Excelsior pieces that had been cannibalized by DS9 for various "bridge of the week" sets like the Saratoga and Odyssey. It was the "Flashback" set that was subsequently used for the Prometheus and Equinox.

Yeah they did a brand new Excelsior bridge for 'Flashback', and then that one was redressed for the Prometheus and Equinox. The Ent-E bridge used the original Enterprise-A bridge walls from TFF/TUC, which were never used on Voyager. Some random elements from the TUC bridge did make it into Voy (see the light fixture above McCoy here reused on the wall here), but the walls weren't among them.

Going back to the Ent-E interiors, indeed they were disassembled during films (not to mention moved around, as each production had them placed in different stages on the Paramount lot). The ready room ended up having totally different layouts in all 3 appearances; and the bridge got an almost entirely new front end between First Contact and Insurrection. Not to mention that several individual props apparently went missing between those two movies and thus weren't on the latter (such as the keypads between stations and Riker's/Troi's consoles). Those were later added back for Nemesis. Shameless plug to the EAS article I did on the bridge changes between the movies: https://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/inconsistencies/enterprise-e-bridge.htm

lol yeah, that was probably a more straight example. I recently re-watched Renaissance Man (I mentioned to my partner that it was the only time in canon that Buenos Aires was mentioned, thus we ended up watching it, literally for the last line of the episode) and thus I had that one more fresh in my memory.

Should be noted that in Insurrection, the Voyager corridors being referred to above as being reused were the residential corridors only, to depict the residential corridors of the Enterprise-E. And these Voyager residential corridors are of course a redress of the TNG residential corridors, each depiction having slight cosmetic differences. In Insurrection, AFAIK the only difference is the shape of the spacer ribs being altered slightly to more closely resemble the shape of the Enterprise-E main corridors.

Ah thanks, that's the bit I wasn't sure on. I'd forgotten how much of the Excelsior bridge was scratch-built for Flashback.

Speaking of reusing stuff, I noticed the TWOK tricorder appear in the 1986 Invaders from Mars! Guessing they were renting a lot of stuff from Modern Props - there were also some familiar computer banks.

(The film is dreadful by the way.)

^The TWOK tricorder also shows up in a montage in the Knight Rider episode "Goliath." Unfortunately, by the time Modern Props moved their catalog online, I could never find the item in their collection.

Those bridge turbolift alcoves survived as long as they did, because I bet they were fiberglass castings. The wooden parts of the rest of the bridge would be more susceptible to damage.

Weren't all the wall segments of the Phase II/TMP bridge fiberglass castings?

Yes, but they stopped using those with ST5, so that just left the alcoves, and a maybe a few other small bits. There was the time a bridge set was damaged by inclement weather as it wasn't fully protected and that's probably the point where all they had left was the alcoves. ...unless they still had the mold and cast new pieces later on.

The Jefferies junction was also used rather extensively for Star Trek: Borg. While the video quality isn't the best, it was shot with a ton of light for the game, so it might be useful.
See here around 17:25 and for several minutes afterwards.
Thanks - the brighter lighting revealed all sorts of extra details:

Yeah, don’t ask that. Because I don’t want to build a curved Jefferies tube kit ;-)
Ummmm..... ;)

More seriously though, I wonder if they built that extra corner section for the game?

Might even be a forced-perspective on-set painting to look like there's more corridor there than there really is? DS9 and B5 used those all the time to make the station sets look bigger than they were.

The linked video actually jumps straight to the moment the characters climb into the tube through the curved portion, so it's real. From the way it's shot, I'd guess the corner was actually put there as an endpiece instead of using a painting or hatch to make the tube look longer (especially since the Jefferies Tube painting was apparently difficult to align with the perspective in the TNG set).
