Surgery day. Here is a break down of the costs for those that may be interested. I did not like seeing that fentanyl line due to all the horror stories you hear in the media, but of course the vet knows what they are doing and I know I am just being worrisome.

Here they are, Gracie and Tucker out enjoying the sun.
Tucker is the little solid black one, and the bigger white and black spotted one is Gracie.

Two sun bathing beauties!!!!

I just bought some carrot and pea baby food, I’m gonna mix it in with Fred’s chicken. Hopefully he likes it so I can get him more nutrients in his diet.

I can totally understand your fear. Everything is going to be fine!! Keep us updated <3

So surgery went well.

When I got Milo to my apartment and took him out of his dog carrier and realized he still wasn't home he started crying. Poor little guy. He started looking around intently. I opened the front door for him in case he wanted to pee and just left and started heading off in a random direction. I knew he wanted to be home, so that's what I did. Once he got there he relaxed and settled in. He was happy to see me at the vet, but wasn't when he got to my place. lol

Ending up costing $1700 CDN. All of his teeth needed to be removed, there were 4 that the vet didn't take out because she was worried that she would break his jaw. So he still has his bottom canines so his tongue isn't falling out. She said he should be fine. Soft food for the next 7-10 days then can go back to normal food. Which I was surprised by. I think the owner will stick with soft food now anyway.

I've been thinking lately about how different dogs' perception of the world must be from ours, with their senses being so much stronger than our.
We go to a park near our house, and it's pretty busy with hikers, horseback riders, other dog walkers, and lots of wildlife. I can't imagine what kind of sensory overload that must be for them, with so many different smells.

I always wonder what array of scents they must be experiencing when they have their head out the window of the automobile. Do they like the wind, or are they getting a rush of scents?

So Milo's owner tells me he is doing OK. He ate the night after surgery and the following morning also. I will be going to see him today.
