Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

So I'm feeling the pain you guys have with ordering the ships Stateside, I ordered a few things through the US shop three weeks ago, decided to contact them and find out where the package was a few days ago, turns out, it's not even been picked yet, let alone sent out, which is a tad annoying.

well...this doesn’t bode well for the order I placed last Wednesday.

I'm dissatisfied with the change. The orthographic views in the magazines are almost as important as the models to me, and I want to be able to see them without a magnifying glass.

Well, looks like there are barely any in the Son'a Collector magazine anyway... Having someone build and texture a new CG model of an intricately shaped ship like this probably costs Eaglemoss money, so why don't they at least use it to its fullest and show it from all angles?

I must buy the Son'a collector; I'm hoping for the Son'a fighter.

At this point, I wouldn't mind getting a Son'a anything. All their ships seem to have been skipped over for me by Eaglemoss for some inexplicable reason.
I'm torn between GamePrinting the Son'a cruiser (ST: Armada made me fall in love with the design), but then the actual Eaglemoss model would make it obsolete. But given how long it's been...

Well the STO and Eaglemoss designs are a bit different, since they both ran into the same problem of the models not existing anymore and poor high quality references.

I am halfway tempted to get it off the main store, but every time I've done that in the past, they wind up eventually sending it to me a few months later as a part of my regular subscription and then I have to turn around and flip one of them on eBay, sometimes at a loss with shipping. It's been a real thick slice of P.I.T.A. bread dealing with Eaglemoss' shipping schedule. It was never all that and a bag of chips in the best of times. In the era of COVID, it's an unmitigated dumpster fire. I'm still waiting on things that were released in the wild back in late 2018. :(

The Illustrated Handbooks show that Eaglemoss have access to the Fact Files drawings and renders, so they should also have higher quality versions of the old Son'a reference pictures:

Nevertheless the shape of the EM Son'a Command Ship isn't entirely accurate.

I know on the regular Runabout you can remove the roll bar and then presto you have the standard issue runabout (and it doesn't look broke). I want to know if you can do the same to the XL version, Anyone know if its still looks okay and not like you broke the part off?

Yeah you can - I wonder if that was a feature?

Example here. This guy also sells decal sets on eBay to add more detailing to the otherwise grey plastic box that is the XL Runabout! So you can finally have the regular Rio Grande as it appeared in most of the seven years of DS9.

Thanks! I am really considering the decal set as well, as I was pissed about the lack of paneling on the smaller Runabout, and its really shitty for it not to be present on the XL version. Especially since even the late in series CGI file of the runabout as the panel detail on it.

eaglemoss customer service really is the worst.

next time I’m gonna wait for what I want to show up on Amazon.

Their shipping was nothing short of atrocious. I ordered a few items on December 12th thinking they’d arrive in time for X-Mas. OH BOY was I wrong...they ended up arriving January 7th. You’d think they were shipped from the UK or something, but nah...they’re located on the East Coast.

I ordered from the back in August and it was shipped within 3 days. It’s almost been 2 weeks now and nothing.

The order I made a few weeks ago should get to my proxy address on Wednesday, and then they should get here by the end of next week depending on how An Post gets their parcels across the pond. I suspect given the weight and size restrictions they'll come across by airfreight.

So, the Batlh has been Add to Basket in the UK since late last week. But DPD is showing no notification of shipping my preorder yet.
