A STAR IS BORN Stardate 2267.27 The starship USS Tyson visits an as-of-yet uncatalogued solar system in formation, approaching from above the circumstellar disk's ecliptic plane. The system appears to be in the midst of a "heavy bombardment" period akin to the Sol System's period of planetary formation; the G-type star that forms the center of this system exhibits high coronal activity, and the planets and protoplanets in orbit have not yet fully cleared the disk of dust. Cometary activity remains high around the star; these comets contain trace amounts of amino acids, which may contribute to the formation of life on a planet in this system's distant future. Here, the Tyson's powerful sensor suite takes scans of the system as it observes this rarely-seen stellar phenomenon up close. This would be the USS Tyson's last mission before its voyage to the L374 system, where it and the USS Schirra would encounter the Doomsday Machine. Just a little piece of artwork I did using the Tyson, with @PixelMagic's permission. Ship rendered in Blender, background a digital painting!
Oh fooey, I thought Daniel had a Christmas miracle (an update for this project). but no, all we got was a lump of coal.
Very like the Bozeman https://www.trekbbs.com/threads/wip-u-s-s-bozeman-revisited-aka-unused-tsfs-ship-design.66010/page-7
