^ Word. Don't think I've been that creeped the fuck out since this guy. On a more positive note, it'll be nice to see Barek again. Although I'm kinda wishing they'd bring back Eames... (fun fact: On CI, it may have been the Vincent D'Onofrio Show, but Eames was actually the senior detective! I only recently got that. Pathetic, innit? )
They brought Eames back a couple seasons ago and it was just to give Benson somebody to ramble on to and talk down to.
Amanda was suspiciously absent from this last episode so they transferred all the high energy to Kat. Everyone needs to just chill.
I think she's supposed to be hot under the collar. I think she isn't a full detective yet either, so she may be rough around the edges. The problem with SVU is that if you last name isn't Benson, you don't get get any character development.
She was recruited as a "white shield", ie a uniformed officer seconded to investigative duty. Apparently, though I don't have a source on this, she should be "promoted" to detective after eighteen months with SVU, so she may be swapping her shield sometime this season.
Speaking of being promoted: no one beats Harry Kim in not being promoted for more than seven years.....
Why does every character need to have a scene like Kat's at the end of the episode, where they are being called out for doing the honourable thing? That someone else has more friends and backup won't be coming? Do we really need to reinforce their goodness?
