Law & Order General Discussion Thread

Is it just a rumor or do they really plan another Law & Order spin-off with Meloni? With the current crisis it will remain a rumor.

Never say never - who thought Picard would return. But he did.

'Law & Order - Stabler' sounds weird, though. Michelle Hurd and Santiago Cabrera as guests would be nice.

Oh: I read the rumor again - it definitely is an April joke - it was published accordingly. :guffaw:

I don't think that it's a joke. https://www.cbs8.com/article/entert...sage/603-bdf681e4-aaa4-4672-8b04-f3e6b495975b

Couldn't click on it - Access denied.

It would be nice if it weren't just a joke. Alas, corona has stopped all the productions until further notice. Some goes for Picard I guess....

The birthday post comes just a few days after ET learned that after nearly a decade, Meloni will be reprising his Emmy-nominated SVU character, Detective Elliot Stabler, for a new NBC series from creator Dick Wolf.

Meloni will star in a 13-episode series following Stabler as he heads up an organized crime division of the New York Police Department. While not confirmed, this would likely be considered another spinoff of Wolf’s long-running Law & Order franchise, which currently includes SVU and crossovers with the Chicago series.

Det. Elliot Stabler was one of the two lead characters on the NBC police procedural’s first 12 seasons, alongside Olivia Benson, portrayed by Hargitay. Hear more on their years-long friendship in the video below.

We need patience for this. Also for the next Picard season. But it would be nice. No Stabler in Germany until 2022, though. At least. I'm courious who will appear as guest in a Stabler show: Hargitay? Belzer? Brophy (unlikely).....:D

Screw the Law & Order style and just go balls out. Call the show Stabler and Logan, and every week they get into shoot outs, car chases and fist fights, with a three digit body count at the end of every season to rival Hawaii Five-0.

It's somehow funny to watch an old SVU episode with an alleged rapist speaking with the German voice actor who did the dubbing for Voyager's EMH.

It's out of place - the Doctor is not a rapist......

Something that's been bugging me about the season finale...

This abusive asshole is trying to kill his wife, probably his son too (the guy appears to be using the kid as a human shield at one point). Fin shoots the man dead - and is SUED by the woman, for wrongful death? :wtf:

First of all, not only is it glaringly obvious that it's a legitimate shoot (you are allowed to kill someone to save the lives of others and/or yourself), but the woman lived in mortal fear of this guy WHO WAS ABOUT TO KILL HER...and she sues Fin for killing him? How's that work?

I'm looking forward to watching new episodes. Until then I'm content with old episodes - with Stabler, Cragen and Munch still around.

Currently watching the season featuring Sharon Stone.....

Word. I wanted to facepalm so bad during that scene. Fin saved your life, lady. Best guess I can get from it that it's an abusive co dependent relationship where she can't live without him in terms of both herself and her child.

Here's another (presumably fan-made) trailer. Unfortunately, this one seems to imply that...

Kathy - Stabler's wife - has been killed :(

I couldn't tell which scenes were from SVU and which were from OC, but I distinctly heard Elliot drop the F-bomb so at least some of it must be new.

There are rumblings that the nixed spinoff Hate Crimes will get a shot on Peacock since they wouldn't have to worry about network censors.
